Your posts are nothing short of brilliant. I learned a lot from that one that I didn't know.

My take on all this is that Akin should get out since he has already lost the PR momentum and it will be near impossible to get it back in the short time left.

Not only that we run the risk of the DBM tarring and feathering the entire party as once again "mean or non-caring about women" if he stays in.

What is your take?

Akin did nor said nothing wrong.

His precipitous drop in the polls which would not have occurred except for his own uncoerced words indicates differently. Have you any conception how the Democrats are gobbling all this up and trying to smear Republicans in general with Akin's comments?

Do you put your money behind your words? How much money for Akin are you going to contribute? I don’t support him, so I am not giving him a nickel.

Great post and exactly what we don’t need, the rats coming after us as being at war with women. They are desperate for anything to use against us since they have nothing to run on. we don’t have to help them by supporting the wrong candidates.

Akin has done a great job to bring abortion clearly as an issue. What we see now are weak pro abortion republicrats trying to get him out but THANK GOD he is not going out and he will WIN!! What they are arguing ( and please correct me if you think I’m wrong) is that if mommy is “raped” ( what does that mean?) then let’s kill the baby. Let’s dont use adoption as an option , let’s just kill the child— right? I fully support him and just sent him more money.

Same logic, only in this example I bet he’s wrong and either is misinformed or has an agenda.

Are you saying that he's wrong about claiming that women who are really RAPED get pregnant LESS than women who want to have a baby ?

Can I accept the next thing this guy says as fact?

SO... you think he is a LIAR because of the PUBLIC CONFUSION over the difference between LEGITIMATELY RAPED and LEGITIMATE RAPE ?

He said the latter, but the public is protesting over the former. Who would you trust ? The guy who said LEGITIMATE or the people who say (imply, conclude) he said LEGITIMATELY ?

Isn't this whole thing a repeat of the POTATO/POTATOE issue with Dan Quayle ? That one depended on the ignorance of the voting public, and this one does too.

Name one person in your locale who got pregnant from an actual forcible and violent rape. (The female lead in the NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET movie doesn't count. Besides, where would we be without Freddy Krueger ?)

There are some real fundamental questions here...
Speaking of questions...

Come on, now...surely you can "figure out" what she might have said, can't you?
I mean, you've "figured out" what you think Akin should have done so it's not like it's a great leap to "figure out" what she might have said, is it?

"Not at all. Not even close. Todd Akin is my congressman. I advocated for him, right on this forum, in the Senate primary. I told my friends to vote for him. I voted for Akin and was glad that he won. I agree with him on the issues. I like his voting record in the House--that's why I supported him."

So you are one of those fair weather supporters eh? A little turbulence and you wanna jump ship? I suspect this mindset is what is wrong with the northern states. Backbones are scarce.

"There are others here in Missouri, just as conservative, who could step in and do a much better job in the race against McCaskill--and deprive the Dems of their "War on Women" poster boy."

Why didn't they run? Could it be that those you think to be better are smart enough to avoid being subjected to the fair weather loyalty displayed by fair weather supporters? Could it be that those you think are better know that, in the Republican Party, it is suicide to run for office should one want to make a stand for life, the US Constitution, God and Country?

Shame on you for not standing with the man you just said you supported. Seems his communication skills were good enough for the six years he served in the House but now... He says one thing that rubs you the wrong way and walla.... You abandon him?
And shame on you for letting mccaskill turn him into a posterboy. It's wishy washy rinos that give the lib-tards their power. Instead of attacking Akin, mccaskill is the one that should be attacked for taking his comments out of context and using them to try to avoid answering for her own record. The state run media isn't going to do it so those of you that have claimed to be supporters of Akin's should do it.

Okay if you say so. Actually , Delaware is one of the most left-wing states in the Union, Hannity didn’t understand that because he is in New York City.

Btw, did you know Joe Biden was elected there by a landslide for the last 40 years? Joe isn’t exactly a conservative.

It was not Akin who said that if you get pregnant from rape it’s because you WANTED it. That is the crap that the stupid psychologist made up when he was trying to say that Akin is subconsciously trying to rape America. These people are agitators. They feed off aggrieved people. Their job is to alienate people from all the real help in their lives and then come in as the government-god to rescue them from all their problems. That’s what “community organizing” is. It’s stirring up pain and strife in order to get power from the stirred-up people.

Your friend is the victim of community organizing. And she didn’t recognize it as such because the “conservatives” piled on with the same crap, in search of a “perfect candidate” to run instead of Akin. Welcome to fallen humanity.

I hate it that your friend had to go through this. That’s what grievance pimps do; they bring up old hurts and alienate people for political gain.

I’ll say it like I’ve said it before: Adrenaline can enable a person to lift a car. That doesn’t mean that if a person gets hit by a car they must have wanted to get hit, or else they would have had the adrenaline to be able to lift the car instead.

That is the leap that people have to make in order to claim that Akin said raped women get pregnant because they WANTED it. That kind of leap is disgusting “science” and a disgusting attempt to hurt those women in a way that Akin never meant them to be hurt.

I’m disgusted with those people, and with anybody who piles on with that same crap rather than point out that your friend and her pain are considered by these grievance pimps to be “collateral damage” necessary to achieve a political end.

If you think it would help, tell your friend that I and so many others hurt with her, respect all she’s been through and the beautiful choices she’s made, and that nobody (including Akin) believes that pregnancy from rape happens because the woman wanted it - or that every pregnant woman who says she was raped is lying about the rape. There are women who lie; UCANSEE2 gave a statistical analysis about that. Those lies hurt the women who really were raped because they make it difficult to know who’s telling the truth. Her struggle makes clear that she was telling the truth, and there is no decent person who would do anything but respect her for how she’s picked herself up after that devastating, terrible thing that was done to her.

We can’t let the agitators divide those of us who all love life. We just can’t. If they see they can get away with it, this will just be the start of the hell they create.

According to former Colorado state prosecutor, Craig Silverman, up to 45% of rape accusations could be fallacious. He went on to say that he was amazed by the amount of false rape accusations that are made by women.

“During my time as a prosecutor who made case filing decisions, I was amazed to see all the false rape allegations that were made to the Denver Police Department. It was remarkable and surprising to me. You would have to see it to believe it. Any honest veteran sex assault investigator will tell you that rape is one of the most falsely reported crimes that there is. A command officer in the Denver Police sex assaults unit recently told me he placed the false rape numbers at approximately 45 percent.”

Woman makes eight false rape claims, but serves no jail time
http://falserapesociety.blogspot.com/2010/11/woman-makes-eight-false-rape-claims-but.html

Charles P. McDowell, a researcher in the United States Air Force Special Studies Division, studied the 1,218 reports of rape that were made between 1980 and 1984 on Air Force bases throughout the world (McDowell, 1985). Of those, 460 were found to be “proven” allegations either because the “overwhelming preponderance of the evidence” strongly supported the allegation or because there was a conviction in the case. Another 212 of the total reports were found to be “disproved” as the alleged victim convincingly admitted the complaint was a “hoax” at some point during the initial investigation. The researchers then investigated the 546 remaining or “unresolved” rape allegations including having the accusers submit to a polygraph. Twenty-seven percent (27%) of these complainants admitted they had fabricated their accusation just before taking the polygraph or right after they failed the test. (It should be noted that whenever there was any doubt, the unresolved case was re-classified as a “proven” rape.) Combining this 27% with the initial 212 “disproved” cases, it was determined that approximately 45% of the total rape allegations were false.

As with all of human behavior, there are numerous reasons why a person would lie about being raped. In the study of false rape allegations in the midwestern town and state universities, over half of the accusers fabricated the rape to serve as a “cover story” or alibi. This included 56% of the non-student and 53% of the student false accusers. The most frequent context and motive for the fabricated rape was consensual sex with an acquaintance that led to some sort of problem for the accuser. The perceived problem was typically something that caused feelings of shame and guilt in the accuser (such as contracting a sexually transmitted disease or becoming pregnant), which was bound to be discovered and received negatively by family or friends.

The real problem with Akin's stupid answer is not that he was wrong (which he was,) but that he was asked a very simple question and he couldn't figure out how to either answer it, or to artfully not answer it. It wasn't a hard question, it wasn't a "gotcha." It was a standard, predictable, run-of-the-mill question that is asked of every pro-life candidate everywhere.

And exactly what was that question?

If a veteran politician is that dumb, his campaign prospects seem pretty bleak, even against a clown like McCaskill. If he manages to pull out a win, it will be solely due to her negatives.

Dumb? Because he used the words "LEGITIMATE RAPE" ? Or is it the public who thinks he said "LEGITIMATELY RAPED" ?

A backlash has set in here in Akin’s suburban St. Louis congressional district, where supporters said the national party had no right to attempt to force out a duly-elected candidate.

They're embarrassed so they're lashing out, in denial, adopting a bunker mentality. After all, he's been their representative since 2001.

It's not their fault any more than it was on my districts' fault Randy "Duke" Cunningham was on the take.

This is on Akin.

This whole "duly elected" thing was right out of the Clinton denfense playbook. I think it was James Carville who said Republicans were trying to "overturn two elections."

Brilliant post and you get it.

This entire saga has gone beyond what Akin said or didn't say. It's now about his abysmal numbers. They spell one word; "lose". As already mentioned here if we want to take the Senate this is one of three seats we can't afford to "lose".

Also I hate to sound like a broken record but the rats will use anything against us they can get the media to repeat more than 6 times. Even if its all lies. Remember its all Bush's fault.?

They are quickly giving the war on women BS a life. We don't need to help it along.

In other words, more than 98 percent of them lied to get a free taxpayer-paid abortion!

It was not Akin who said that if you get pregnant from rape it’s because you WANTED it. That is the crap that the stupid psychologist made up when he was trying to say that Akin is subconsciously trying to rape America. These people are agitators.

I PREDICTED that the Left would spin Akin's words this way right here in FR the same day he said them, before anyone else apparently realized this. That was problem #1 with what he said. Akin may have thought he was being cute by implying such a thing without actually saying so (giving him credit for more brains than he may actually have), but it turns out than, in reality, it was very, very stupid of him to have said such a thing. That's what I posted, and that is how it has turned out.

IMHO,this race is no longer about abortion or anything that Akin said.

Its about numbers. And Akin has none.He will lose.

We can make all the eloquent cases we want to show how righteous he was or is and how brilliant his statements were or were but it does not matter!!

His numbers are in the tank!Case closed!!

Time for new blood and Sarah Palin pulling whomever across the finish line which can still be done if we do it now!!!
