Well I do hope he stays in, but would understand if he bows out
Sad that the Democrats and Pro-Abort Liberals in the GOP are pushing him out. He would have made a solid conservative in the Senate...so lacking in the GOP
Akin is being attacked because of his strong conservative beliefs, not the so-called comment.

Hmmmm ... He's generated 150K in small donations in 48 hours. Nearly 7K signatures on his petition. 18K likes on Facebook. Words of support from Congressmen and grass roots leaders. I would be surprised if he withdrew. It would be a huge disappointment. We need firm resolve and conservative values in the Senate, and Akin possesses them both. But I have to admit, historically a highly public surprise Friday announcement does not bode well for conservatives. The Republicans may have negotiated to have their way after all.

Drop out already.

I thought a deadline for his replacement on the ballot has already passed?

Yes, Akin’s raised money, the DNC and McCaskill people have promised to keep him fully funded until September 25.
He is a doddering, delusional kook.

Another report has Akin “staying” (The Hill)
I would say this Presser is to politely display the middle digit of his hand to the Liberal Pro-Aborts who are trying to push him out.

Akin is being attacked because of his strong conservative beliefs, not the so-called comment BS, and you know that.
Akin is dumb as a rock, if he wanted to persuade people he could have said the child conceived by rape is an innocent victim and needs not to die, but no, Akin had to go into the magic uterus theory.
To: fwdude
He can drop out until Sept. 25th., although it requires a court’s approval.
If he had dropped out by August 21 he wouldn’t need the courts approval. It was easier that way obviously and that’s what he should have done, IMO.
To: jennychase
Oh, dear God. He just needs to go away, IMHO.

I would say this Presser is to politely display the middle digit of his hand to the Liberal Pro-Aborts who are trying to push him out. Do you believe as Akin stated, that a woman can shut down her reproductive system.
To: SeminoleCounty
Akin has done far more damage to the coservative and pro-life causes than any liberal pro-aborts could have inflicted in their wildest dreams.
To: jennychase
If he says that, I will frankly be furious. He needs to shut the heck up about it, but based upon his stubborn nature so far, that would not be a shock.
