I'd counter with the opposite - Akin is being supported, in the main, by evangelicals who believe that Mormonism is a cult and cannot stand the idea of Mitt Romney as President. Akin provides a convenient means of sticking it to the "Establishment GOP" (to which, as an aside, any six-term Member of Congress certainly belongs).
I'm strongly conservative, ardently pro-life, and I think Akin is nuts and has done the pro-life movement real harm.
I hope he took my advice and made a deal with the Central Committee to withdraw if he could name his conservative, pro-life successor.
You know ONE time it would be nice for one of these politicians to be on time. They all play this same stupid manipulation game. They always show up late. It is supposed to be some sort of “power display” it just makes them look childish and incompetent.
He’s campaign spokesman has said he is not.
He is “reaffirming he will stay in the race.”
Factually inaccurate - Allen West, Sarah Palin, Sean Hannity, etc, etc, etc are not “pro-abort liberals in the GOP.” His conduct damaged the credibility of the pro-life movement - that’s not good for the cause, IMHO.
Very well said TonyInOhio
+1
I’ve got it, just in time thanks to you. :-)
I am confident MO will not go to Obama, but Romney will now have to spend money there. It was considered safe GOP and McCaskill’s seat was considered a safe GOP pickup.
I
what the hell is he waiting for? He is standing around clasping his hands together looking lost.
GET ON WITH IT!
Because McCaskill didnt stand a chance against Brunner or Steelman. Just dang it! I so despise Claire McCaskill!
Steelman would have little chance against McCaskill. The liberal media would have a field day with the “Sarah Palin candidate” and mobilize the McCaskill forces.
I like Palin, but she would have mobilized the McCaskill people and the DNC. Steelman was no sure win
Also, Palin in the past has supported Open Borders/Pro-Amnesty/Anti-American liberals like John McCain and Jeff Flake for Senate races...so she has pushed establishment GOP over conservative candidates. Akin’s National Security/Border Security positions were too strong for Palin, judging by her other choices
Seems the only ones that have a problem with Akin are Pro-Abort Liberals outside of Missouri.
Not out
He’s staying in.
He’s staying in....a Charlie crist type tantrum....if I can’t have the seat, I won’t let you have the seat either. What a pathetic loser.
You guys are right of course.
Good! If he wins he can claim he did it without the GOP.
If he loses the Senate for us - he owns that defeat, ObamaCare and Obama's Infanticide.
it’s all about me...me I,I, I, me me me I, I I
another bambi
Oh well...it’s an “it’s all about me” news conference.
