AFA was recently contacted by a Home Depot employee who says the boycott of Home Depot is being effective. "We have customers who come into our store and confront our store managers over the HD's support of Gay pride. The AFA is having an effect on HD."
She also shared that many employees disagree with the company's pro-gay-marriage stand. In June, a "Gay Pride Month" poster was put up in her breakroom. "HD is as committed as ever to the changing of laws in favor of same sex marriage. They had absolutely no empathy for those employees who voiced offense with the display. This was mandated by corporate directive. Therefore the display was torn down at least 2 times."

Thanks for the link. Indeed I do see some standard PC references like “diversity” and the like, but nothing really pushed. The section where I thought “life-partners” would be mentioned contained nothing at all.
I make a distinction between one company wording it’s policies carefully to avoid legal trouble, and another blatantly pushing and financially supporting gay events in the community.
In fairness, I’m at work and don’t have time to read everything at your link right now, so maybe I missed another section that is more blatant?
If you are into lumber, you might try to find a small, locally owned lumber yard. Many times their prices are very competitive or less than either Lowes or Hd. And, many time they have a more varied selection.
Since the news of the HD “advocacy” position came out I don't think I've spend $100 in a HD, in total, since. We have two of them within a 10-minute drive, and I haven't stepped in either of them for nearly 3 years. I won't spend a dime in an HD unless I have an emergency need and no other choice.
“I personally have not shopped at HD since I found out they supported gays and go to Lowes.”
Lowes also supports gays..
Someone who only pops into homosexualagenda threads on FR to argue that the perverted lifestyle is accepted by the country’s youth; therefore FReepers need to get with the program and at least acknowledge they are in the minority, certainly seems to have a tender nerve about something....
I do boat repairs and Lowes mostly stocks pine and only selected sizes of Hemlock Fir boards.
Homo Depot has Douglas Fir in a broad range of board lengths and widths as well as Fir Plywood.
Pine is acceptable in most construction, but marine stresses requires the stiffness of Fir dimensional lumber and plywood and Lowes does not carry that.
F.W.I.W. marine grade is not required in all places in a fiberglass boat. Just in the transom area and I get that from a specialty lumber guy locally.
For anything else, Homo Depot is indistinguishable from Lowes.
LOL. I never said that or implied it. The topic was anal sex I said anal sex is very common with young men/women today..which it is-75-80% do it today. Sorry no interest in men...full red blooded, horny male here and I have a GF.
The Ortho Brush and Poison Ivy killer had been nearly half the price at Lowes than HD or Ace but then they didn’t have it anymore. I had to get the last jug at Ace for $12 more. Ridiculous.
Not in the same way.
One reason is that I don't buy products that are on Toyotas in NASCAR (Home Depot, Kingsford, Clorox, Little Debbie)
and Jimmy Johnson is one of my drivers.
Short it and make a killing......
I try to stay away from Homo Depot. It’s Lowe’s for me, for more reasons than that. At HD, I have to register my military ID at customer service before I can get my discount. Lowe’s gives me my discount at the checkout with no hassles.
Unfortunately, I had to shop at HD last weekend. I needed an item called “Quik Roof” and Lowe’s doesn’t carry it. It’s the only thing I bought there.
You know, the associates are more courteous and helpful at Lowe’s as well.
Why would they even get involved unless the CEO has personal investment in it?
Kevcol, here is my take on all of this. One month on FR everyone said to support Starbucks because they are Pro 2nd amend. 2 months later boycott Starbucks because they support the homo movement.
One thread on FR said to support Lowes over HD, another thread said to boycott Lowes because they push the Girl Scouts (which they do).
Who can keep up with this crap??? I hate all boycotts by both sides whether it's against HD or Chik-Fil-A.
Srs, On FR over the last few months we are supposed to boycott Target, Amazon, General Mills, Starbucks, Home Depot, Jc Penny and I could go on and on.Pretty soon won't be able to buy from anyone.
Life is too short to go through life like this...I just buy what I want where I want (I'm not going to spend 4 hours in the store looking at every label to make sure it's not made by General Mills)
These boycotts are meaningless..all it does is make the person doing it feel a little bit better. HD near record sales and Lowes bad sales as another poster posted proves it.
You can do other things to make more of a difference such as working on getting in the right small gov't candidates for starters.
I have to go 10 miles out of my way for Lowes and HD is a mile from my house. My main reason for not going to HD any more was their high pressure siding sales.
I got a quote and decided not to use them. They show’d up with a crew any way and my wife damn near had to call the cops to get them to leave.
We bought siding elsewhere and did it ourselves.
FUBO and FUHD. ACE is great for most small stuff and Menards or Lowes for most anything else.
I stay out of both Lowe’s and Home Depot as much as possible. Too much walking miles of aisles looking for stuff. Ace Hardware is “in and out” with exactly what I need at about the same price as these big outfits.
When I worked at Staples, I asked why I couldn't add my girlfriend (now wife) to my benefits and gays could. The HR person said that we can get married and gays can't.
I should have said that I think it is wrong...but I didn't say anything. (I was young)
Actually, the stock price has gone from $33 to $57 in the last 12 months. That’s a 70% + increase
Thank you..see my post #54 where I stand.
