In my perfect world everyone involved with the original detention order would be arrested in the same manner and then confined in a psychiatric hospital for a complete, multi-day, evaluation.

As long as those who were involved, including the judge, aren't held accountable it will happen again. IMHO, the next time it happens the arrestee will be charged with “resisting arrest” and treated accordingly - its the history of all too many police departments.
