The article is long and had to be excerpted. It should be read in it's entirety.

My point was Red, with his excerpt choices, left the impression that Akin had more support than he actually has.

The article names an impressive list of people whose advice Akin is hearing. Phyllis Schlafly may be the best person to weigh in on this whole mess. She has a lifetime of dealing with press bias and all things female.

While you point to one, a sidebar, who thinks he should drop out, Akin actually does have wide spread support according to "multiple sources" inside the CNP conference.

To repeat this again since it does get ignored:

"Multiple sources at the CNP conference told CNN that Akin is being encouraged by leading figures in the conservative movement to remain in the Senate race even as he faces pressure from Republican establishment.

And this little tidbit being ignored:

" "But the source stressed that Akin is "getting a ton of support" from conservatives at the conference. "
