The organizer of a large picnic event designed to help unify Republican leaders and supporters in Connecticut next Saturday canceled his plans to serve 100 Chick-fil-A sandwiches after deciding the controversy over the restaurant owner's stand against same-sex marriage might become a distraction.
.
.
Apparently, because same-sex marriage is legal in Connecticut, Beck reconsidered his decision, according to the Post. He plans to give 90 of the sandwiches to a homeless shelter and keep 10 for "event staff to taste."

The organizer of a large picnic event designed to help unify Republican leadersHey, this picnic was not for the rank in file which is where one is most likely to find the true conservatives. It was a picnic of leaders, by leaders, and for leaders and that elitist scum sold out their heart and soul a long time ago.

You are so right—CT is hopeless. Get out while you still can.

I go to Chick-Fil-A more often now because of the recent controversy. And a fair number of at least the male workers there still appear a little light in the loafers.

There is one rising star "Tom Scott" conservative, Len Suzio of Meriden (of all places). If he can win in November, I think he could make a serious run for governor.

And they wonder why people like me no longer consider themselves Republican. No longer contribute to Republicans. And coming soon, will no longer vote Republican.

Yet another reason why the republican party is hauling ass as fast as it can away from me.

Good graphic.
The GOP needs to be put out of our misery.
Calling it ‘useless’ is to give it too much credit.

Right there with you. I am waiting for the convention. If they do what I expect I am changing my registration to “none of these bastards”.

Beck, an executive recruiter, said he ordered 100 sandwiches from the nearest Chick-fil-A franchise (in New Jersey across the states' line) as a show of support for management's First Amendment rights of free speech.
I support Chick-Fil-A, but to go through NYC to NJ to get the sandwiches means they would be cold.
CT has problems, but lack of exceptional local food is not one of them. Italian (especially apizza), sea food, comfort food (burgers, New England hot dogs) all have excellent local suppliers.

Mega Dittos!
They have been for quite some time. To me there’s not a dimes bit of difference between the parties. Conservatives are the only ones who can save this Nation.

Do you mean the 'Tom Scott' that ran for governor in 1994? I was campaigning for him, because I knew what the income tax would do for the citizens of CT.
The Hartford Courant had a picture of me at Tom Scott's headquarters on Berlin Turnpike, when we celebrating the GOP house takeover.
