I was under the impression that as there are conditions conducive to conception, the opposite must also be true.
Then maybe I'm criminally stupid as well.
Yep. Just like Akin, they think it was a “misplacement of one word in one sentence.”
Nice spin there. The damage was the magical ways woman “can shut down this whole thing.” That thing would be rape.
It was an embarrassing display of ignorance relative to biology and science. And while it may hurt all Republicans, it hurts the pro life movement even more in the long run, i.e. “Is this the way they all think?”.
“magic vagina fairy” ? I didn't hear him say that!
Here is his EXACT quote:
It seems to me, from what I understand from doctors, thats really rare, Akin told KTVI-TV. If its a legitimate rape, *****the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down*****..”
You quoted him as saying: “The woman's body has a way to shut that whole thing down.”
As in the Zimmerman case, words mean things.
He said FEMALE, a most general, technical term.
You said WOMAN, far more personal.
He said “ways”,
you said “*A* way”.
He said “TRY” to to shut that whole thing down”
You said “to shut that whole thing down” leaving out “TRY”.
Since you have changed his words and definitely have misrepresented his meaning, it's no wonder you could come up with “magic vagina fairy”. Too bad it's not factual. Just a fairy tale you made up.
