At the risk of repeating an earlier mistake of reporting something said on Fox and not having a link, I thought this was outrageous and emailed Fox to condemn the report. Jennifer Griffin just reported the real name of the SEAL who has written the book on the Osama raid. Apparently, he also was in on the merchant captain's rescue from pirates, taking out some of the pirates. Sorry, I didn't get nor will I repeat the man's name here - I was screaming at the TV for them to NOT say it! For those who need proof, it was the last segment of the Bill Hemmer/Martha MCcallum show.
I think journalists should have their home addresses published.
Totally agree...
Then maybe they would understand how wrong this is.
Methinks TPTB got their panties in a wad and dropped the docs on this guy.
The SEALS chose to play hardball politics. Welcome to the Chicago Way.
I have read a few articles on this, it seems a lot of current SEAL members are upset about this as well.
“The tell-all book also has apparently upset a large population of former and current SEAL members who worry about releasing information that could compromise future missions. One Navy SEAL told Fox News, “How do we tell our guys to stay quiet when this guy won’t?”
I would have to agree, seems it could compromise future efforts by them...
So they handle it internally.
To give the guy’s name out on national TV is irresponsible at best.
The enemy has a long memory and is very patient, as we know.
And this SEAL has a family and did what he did in service to his/our country. No excuse....
He’s a former SEAL. Like many former operators who have written books, his name is all over the place.
So he wrote the book under a pseudonym?
From what I understood, he wrote the book and was using a pseudonym.
Again, not appropriate to shout it out on national news...
If Fox said it I suspect the name has been circulating all over DC and NYC already.
I agree about giving his name out, but putting yourself out there, against your fellow team mates opinions is asking for trouble IMO.
Everything I have ever read about them it seems there motto is always watch out for each other... this guy is putting himself and others at risk..
“Like many former operators who have written books, his name is all over the place”.
What is it?
One the one hand, you’re essentially correct — Dick Marcinko, Eric Haney, Chris Kyle, etc. are all former operators with very public names attached to books.
But, this is a pretty recent operation ... and Bin Laden has a hoard of suicidal lackeys that might want to avenge his death. This is probably a special case where it would be better to leave his real name undisclosed for a while.
SnakeDoc
Not going to get it from me.
And according to some on this thread, it’s out there so you should have a pretty easy time finding out.
Maybe these guys will help you.
Thank God the guy is retired.
He shouldn’t have published a book revealing details of the mission. ‘Loose lips sink ships’ and in some cases ‘people’.
Yeah, that’s the job of “our” president.
This guy was way above his pay grade.
Just hawt. In a classy sense.
