Shouldn’t we be talking about a SECOND party? The Democans and Republicrats are merely two factions of the one party system that prevails today. Conservatives are treated by the Republicrats in much the same way that Democans treat Jews and blacks - loyal voters who you ignore after the election.

You doubt that we have a one party system? In 2008, we got McLaim because it was his turn. He agreed with 0bambi on everything from immigration to the wars to not being Bush. OK, good Conservatives, hold your nose and vote for McLaim.

Now we have Romney because it is his turn. He agrees with 0bambi on health care, immigration, abortion yet he’s not 0bambi. OK, good Conservatives, hold your nose and vote for Romney.

Where does it end? If we continue to hold our noses and compromise our principles, it will end in totalitarianism. Once again, Sarah is correct. We need a Conservative SECOND party if we are to survive as a republic.

Apparently you are unaware that in order to win you have to get people to vote for you. People did just that with McCain and Romney.

With McCain conservatives could not unite on an alternative same story with Romney. No conspiracies or plots were necessary.

There is definitely some bad blood there, of Romney's making I should add, and now he is paying the price of her support. This probably makes the GOPe very excited as they hate exuberant conservatism.

The Republican party is so ingrained, that I’m not sure you can simple create a new party and replace it. You wind up with a party that holds on to half it’s members, and a new party that has the other half.

Even if you’re successful, you’ll have a problem with ex-Republicans moving the new party Left.

To me, it seems like taking over the Republican party and bringing it into line with new goals, eliminates at least the duality problem. It also does away with the Liberal element, if the party elites deem that to be the goal.

Right now, they want none of this.

Look, Perot almost did it in 2000, and may have actually done it if he hadn’t gone mental. It can be done, but try after try has failed. That’s why I remain skeptical.

I think the Tea Party is a good move. I like what it’s been up to. Then again, it isn’t fool-proof either.

Remember that Palin addressed the Tea Party and told them McCain was one with them. This is one example of how the old crusty Lefties are passed along to the new effort. I know a lot of folks are impressed with her, but she really isn’t as well grounded as they believe. Her immigration plan is abysmal in my estimation. Some of her candidate selections have been misguided.

If you think a third party is the way, I’m not going to give you a hard time over it. Just look back at all the attempts at that. I think you’ll understand where I’m coming from.

Take care.
