Unfortunately Palin is wrong about a third party bid in Missouri.
This is a situation where a third party wouldn't work, but third parties are going to eventually have a serious impact on future elections. With the selection of Romney, following the selection of McCain 4 years ago, it is very clear that the GOP does not give a damn about Conservatives. More and more Conservatives are going to decide not to give a damn about a party that doesn't care about them.
As for Palin being the leading opposition to Bush/Christie in 2016, a whole lot of people were saying she would be the leading opposition to Romney in 2012. We dont know what Palin is going to do in 2016.
If the ticket in 2016 were Bush or Christie, or even Romney if he somehow wins this year, and Palin ran as an independent, I'd be behind her. I may have differences with some of her viewpoints, but she cares about Conservatives more than the GOP does.

That sums it up quite nicely; though CLOSED primaries WOULD have given us a lot better representation of CONSERVASTIVES if the darned LIBERALS could be kept OUT of the selection process to begin with.
Sorry RUSH; but Operation Chaos works both ways!
