California - a few years ahead of America if Obama is reelected. You don’t need real learning if you have a strong teacher’s union.
For sixth grade they are learning poems in math class.
I remember sixth grade math. It was my first “serious” math book, without any pictures. Just a yellow cover. And no, I didn’t have any time to “learn poems”. It was a tough math year.
We are doing our kids a terrible disservice.
A dozen, a gross, and a score: Plus three times the square root of four: Divided by seven: Plus five times eleven: Is nine squared and not a bit more.
(12+144+20+3*2)/7+5*11=9^2
We’ve been doing this for years.
9 times 7 is 63
Think of a rabbit climbing a tree.
“What is an acrostic?”
Jer; that’s when you put a sticky note across your big gob. Feel free to do so.
"This old man, he played one..."
But by sixth grade they should have progressed beyond that.
