Frenzied Media Give Four Times More Coverage to Akin Flap Than Biden's 'Chains' Smear
NewsBusters ^

A week after giving relatively light coverage to Joe Biden's "chains" smear, the broadcast networks eagerly dove into the Todd Akin controversy, giving over four times more coverage to an uproar involving a statewide (conservative) politician than a controversy involving a national (liberal) politician. NBC, CBS and ABC's evening and morning shows have devoted an astonishing 88 minutes (or 40 segments) of coverage to Congressman Akin's "legitimate rape" remark. Over a similar three day period, the networks allowed a scant 19 minutes (or ten segments) to a racially charged gaffe by the Vice President of the United States.

Maybe if the GOP establishment would quit throwing logs and gasoline on the media fire, it would subside.

Akin is a fighter and won’t stay down.

“having sex with children is not an issue as long as your a Dem”

Those are the cards we are dealt, what we need to do is stop showing our hand every time.

Not much attention paid to Scott Brown’s announcement that he’s pro “choice” and his call to be more inclusive of the pro “choice” crowd either.

Trust me, it ain’t just the left with a seriously damaged moral compass.

He who controls the press can control the perceptions. (Controlling the school curricula helps with the brainwashing, also, and destroys Reason).

We all know MSM’s Goebbels’ techniques. This is how they have shaped our children to think “Up is Down” Capitalism is “evil”, Gun ownership is evil, men and women are interchangeable, Marxism/socialism is great, radical egalitarianism is not totalitarianism-—This is what they have been doing since the 50’s.

Just developing that “useful idiot” “group think” mentality, where people believe any sound bite they throw out to make you think with “emotion” (your crotch), instead of with the intellect and actual knowledge. Do people slip up and make mistakes? Yes. But you can ignore it like they do with Obama’s gaffes-—or they can repeat it a gazillion times to destroy someone in their Alinsky-like fashion if they don’t have the allowed “opinions”.

We either allow them to do it or shut their fascist machines down by turning off their tripe and not buying their publications or listening to their channels. I don’t. Don’t support them and their TV shows and don’t allow any of your kids to watch that brain-numbing stuff either. Get them reading Plutarch. Something to engage their brain, so it doesn’t actually atrophy.

Yup. Thats why the media has become so dangerous. Sure, some people can get news online, but the vast majority only get whats fed to them by NBC, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, CBS, NPR, Bill Maher, etc.

Where was the MSM when Al Gore called the alleged rape of Juanita Broaddrick a mistake? Remember this?

Prudhomme soon bore in: "So you didn't believe Juanita Broaddrick's claim."

Gore: "No, I didn't say that. I think I said I don't know how to evaluate that, and I didn't see, uh, the interview. Uh, but I must say something else to you about this....I think that, uh, I think that whatever mistakes he made in his personal life are in the minds of most Americans balanced against what he has done in his personal life as President."

That’s because Akin’s comment was 4x as stupid as Biden’s. As tough as that was to pull off...

Well, what did you expect?

What did Akin expect? He has to know how biased the MSM is against the GOP. His comment was stupid enough, but making it even knowing the MSM's bias only makes it worse.

I guess we are now including Hannity, Levin, Fox News, and other Pro-Aborts in with the Liberal Media? Their whining over Akin was like listening non-stop to MSNBC

Thank God Akin stood firm against this nonsense

Well, only a fool expects even handed, fair coverage from a press that is in the tank for one side or the other.
Now the Obamacrats have changed the narrative from Obama’s record, Medicare and the economy to The Republican War on Women.
Now I hear the Republican senate candidate in Washington made a stupid remark to a Democrat blogger.
This too will probably be all over the media by Friday.
It is now starting to look like the Democrats hold Missouri and Washington and probably the Senate.
Right now Romney and Ryan are probably one good gaffe from Obama holding the White House.

Yep....the Socialists took control of Germany’s press in the 30’s and came over here after the war. Solzhenitsyn warned us in ‘78 Harvard Commencement Speech that we “think” we have a “free” press-—but it was no better than what Stalin had in Russia. (He was never invited back-—by the Leftists to speak again, since Truth is forbidden.)

Talk Radio and then the internet changed the iron grip of these “controllers of all allowed ideas” in the marketplace and in schools, that they had since they demonized McCarthy.

They literally have warped the “thinking” of millions of children—now adults—filling their foundational “knowledge” with lies and BF Skinner associations so they “feel” correctly when they hear words like, “gay” or “white” or “gun” or “Rush Limbaugh” or the name of that patriot, “McCarthy”.

I do not expect Conservatives and Liberals to be treated equally by the pond scum who populate the MSM elite because if they are truly conservative and truly liberal, they are not equals neither morally or intellectually as conservatives are infinitely morally superior and at least four times intellectually superior.

Facts are facts. Akin is six term congressman who has held elected office since 1988. He is an EQUAL to all the other 535 know-nothings and do-nothings that the two party elites have populated the legislative branch with.

Akers is an example of the Peter Principle he flew under the radar until he rose to his highest level of incompetence.

He can be as stupid as he likes in the lowlights of a House campaign but when you are running for a Senate seat, stupid won't cut it.

He is a political hack and if he never holds another elected office, the country will be well served.
