Ryan grilled on abortion and 'forcible rape'
CBS News ^ | August 22, 2012 | Rebecca Kaplan

CBS News) ROANOKE, Va. - In his first solo public statement on the issue, Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan called controversial comments made by Missouri Senate hopeful Todd Akin "outrageous" in an interview with KDKA Pittsburgh. The staunchly anti-abortion House member declined to explain the phrase "forcible rape," which appeared in a bill he co-sponsored with Akin.

This is why Akin needs to go. Every Republican down to the candidate for dog catcher is going to be asked this question.

Ryan should have said, "He's apologized. As for me, I absolutely believe that it is wrong to abort a child in cases of rape. The perpetrator should be punished, but the child did nothing wrong."

Forcible Rape is a LEGAL term to constitute rape by FORCE as apposed to rape by confidence as in DATE rape or STATUTORY rape.

F’in idiots.

Best response: ‘I disagree with Rep. Aken in his unfortunate use of words. Yet, the idea that a baby is responsible and should pay the ultimate price of a death penalty for the actions of an assailant who happens to be his biological father is wrong.

I believe that a woman who has been raped should be treated with respect, love and helped to bring the child to term and adoption. The idea that the trauma of rape is blunted by the further trauma of an abortion is not rational in my eyes’

Answer the question once, fine.

Now any more questions regarding what a candidate in Missouri said to a local reporter, or whatever, should be laughed at and called what they are - a deflection by a failed party promoting failed policies propping up a failed ideology.

So Ryan didn’t get any of those really hardball questions like “Red or Green?” that Barry gets. Well, we already know Barry is a moron and probably couldn’t handle the questions like Romney and Ryan are getting so it really doesn’t matter. If one of the clowns in the “media” dares to throw Barry a fastball they know they’ll pay for it.

TURN THE TABLES on the Pro-Aborts!

The “Rape & Incest exception” argument has been a Fraud and a Red Herring for over 40 years.

DO NOT answer that question!

Instead, say:

“This argument has been a Fraud and a Red Herring for over 40 years!”
“Bring me the legislation containing this exception, and THEN we can begin to talk.”
“NOBODY, has EVER brought forth legislation with this language, yet it is used to beat up Pro-Lifers at every turn!”
“ Would YOU support such restrictions on abortion?”

You can go on to say, you would sign such legislation, because it is a starting point that would save over 1 Million lives a year.

Mr. Akins may not be such an idiot after all. If you check out WEB.MD and other sources you will find that Stress indeed is detrimental to conception/fertility and increases early Miscarriage.

Hormones like cortisol or epinephrine which rise and often remain high during times of chronic stress may reduce fertility.... Doctors do not know the exact links between stress and fertility, but a series of studies shows the impact is hard to ignore... Pregnancy is less likely to occur during times of high tension and anxious feelings....
Also see the WEB.MD article titles Stress may up early miscarriage risk. It appears that violent rape may indeed adversely effect fertility/ conception and the ability to carry the child to term.

Any more questions to Ryan or Romney on abortion could be used as an opportunity to remind voters about Obama's voting record on sex crimes & abortion:

In 1999 he was the only Illinois State Senator to vote against a bill barring early release for (criminal) sex offenders.

He voted against filtering pornography on school and library computers and he voted for sex education for kindergarten children through the 5th grade.

Also, in 2001, he voted "present" on a bill to keep pornographic book and video stores and strip clubs from setting up within 1,000 feet of schools and churches.>

In February 2004, his wife, Michelle, sent out a fundraising letter, which actually stated her concern over the rise of conservatism in the Country, and that the 'so-called' partial-birth abortion was a legitimate medical procedure that should be protected.

In 2003, as chairman of the next Senate committee to which BAIPA (Born Alive Infants Protection Act) was sent, Obama prevented it from even getting a hearing. BAIPA, by the way, stated that all live-born babies were guaranteed the same constitutional right to equal protection, whether or not they were wanted. In fact, while a member of the Illinois State Senate, Obama voted four times against the BAIPA.

In 2001, he voted "present" on a bill to notify parents when their minor children seek an abortion.

Obama co-sponsored a bill (S. 1520) in 2005 that would allow the cloning of human embryos to be used in research, but prohibit implanting them in wombs and allowing them to live and grow up. Obama voted to use taxpayer dollars to fund the killing of embryonic humans for experimentation

this whole thing reminds me of the 'ketchup is a vegetable' and 'forests produce smog' laughfests the media and democrats had at Reagan's expense in the 80s.

Nevermind that there were good arguments for his comments.

I’m aware of this.

The problem is the term Akin used, to suggest some “rape” wasn’t “actual”.

At that point, there is no sufficient explanation while on the campaign trail.

I have heard conservative (supposedly)freepers urging that this (staunch) conservative be tossed under the bus because he is “incoherent”—unable to express himself, and he has a tail, and so forth and so on.
Here he is eloquently defending himself, after having been thrown to Matt Liar and the MSM wolves by the GOP elite and their pick, Mitt Romney:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp=48749183;
Akin explains that the people of Missouri selected him, that he misspoke (no one here ever has a bad day) and apologized (ditto), and still the GOP-e and many FRiends—in the spirit of Obama’s sense of “Because I/We-Say-So” federalism—believes their judgment trumps that of the citizens of the great state of Missouri.
To hell with Romney and the GOP elite masters-of-men.

Abortion IS one of Obama's biggest failures. He is the "abortion president."

Women are different when they are ovulating, so the opposite kind of experience and condition makes sense.
