A German rabbi has been criminally charged for performing a circumcision, committing what the indictment calls "bodily harm," media outlets reported on Tuesday. The charges against David Goldberg, who is a mohel and the Rabbi of the city of Hof Saale in Bavaria, is the first known case following the anti-circumcision ruling issued by a German court in May.According to media reports, the charges were filed by a physician from the city of Hessen, and was based on the court ruling which stated that performing a religious circumcision ritual can be considered a crime. A Bavarian radio station reported that the doctor was among the signatories of a letter sent to Angela Merkel, which claimed that "religion should not be allowed to permit harming of the helpless."

I used to not believe that, but I am increasingly thinking it is so.
Oh, goodness gracious. What did you used to believe . . . that queers hate G-d and anti-Semites love Him too much?
At least the political spectrum is beginning to make sense now.
There is a huge push by western doctors and health organizations in Africa to get as many men circumcised as possible to reduce the spread of Aids.
I guess what is legal and what is illegal depends on geography, and can differ by 180 degrees.
“... could not see the distinction”.
I agree. Apples and oranges. I don’t know how someone could compare the two.
Outrageous.
The Jewish community in Germany, or what’s left of it, need simply respond: “Great, soon all of the German Jews will be behind bars — again.”
I’ll bet the cowards beat a hasty retreat!
Seems to me that this line of reasoning could be used as an excuse to criminalize a number of religious practices and ideas.
Yet I bet the same doctor has no problem performing an abortion...
Your definitions of circumcision and mutilation, fine, only an idiot, blah blah.
Now, without equivocation, what is the distinction? Some circumcisions are performed with the teeth. Some moslum ‘mutilations’ only involve the removal of the foreskin of the clitoris. Definitions are blurry. Please, give us an exact distinction between good jewish circumcision, and evil moslum circumcision.
Bablefish made a mess of your post.
Can you try again in the original German?
My prayers and sympathy.
Because an intact foreskin facilitates insertion into tight non-lubricated orifices.
Or so I'm told.
It’s unsurprising.
“Here we go, folks.”
It’s days like this I am happy I live high in the mountains about 500 miles from any town of consequence.
HAAAHAHAHA!!
Oh, goodness gracious. What did you used to believe . . . that queers hate G-d and anti-Semites love Him too much? At least the political spectrum is beginning to make sense now.”
JB: as much as I like you, I have to go with ZC on this one.
On one side, you have the culture-of-death who hates God and does things like have dangerous gay sex, kill babies, and persecute Jews. Been that way since the pagans sacrificed babies to Baal.
On the other side, you have those who love life and love God.
For a smart guy, you’re slow on the uptake.
So how long until Kristallnacht II?
“Can you try again in the original German?”
Way to make friends.
I’m a circumcised “WASP” American. My ancestors kicked german butt to get your ancestor’s butts out of the fire.
If you’re done with the insults, can you please just explain to us how we can distinguish between jewish and moslum genital modifications? Something that would hold up in court perhaps? I think we’d all like to stop some of that moslum stuff, but we have to have unequivocal definitions.
Are you able? Or are you just going to spit more insults?
If it's believed that this represents anti semitism then one can look at certain traditions that other religions might have.I can't think of any that Christianity has....moslems,perhaps? I don't know.I'm not well schooled on the traditions followed by other religions.
I've donned my asbestos suit so have at it if you all must!
“Never Again’’ is beginning again. What next, no Jews allowed to be civil servants?
