What kind of person becomes a priest? For the most part, either a religious person or a greedy one.

I thought priests lived in plain, drafty rectory buildings and worked 6 days a week (especially Sundays), baptizing babies, witnessing marriages, listening to people's troubles, firing up sullen teenagers, and comforting the dying, sometimes in distant places late at night, but have to get up with their brain on to do a 7 a.m. Mass—for about $25K a year.

If there's an opportunity for the greedy there, let me know. Maybe I missed my calling.
