Charlotte didn’t fare so well with Hugo, but that took a perfect scenerio that this storm isn’t likely to take: a full inland push from Charleston with a Cat 5 storm. If this one affects NC, it will likely be either a coastal runner or an Outer Banks brush and Charlotte probably won’t get the first drop of rain from it.
Not so much thinking of this storm, but according the national hurrican center http://www.nhc.noaa.gov there is another disturbance in the eastern Atlantic that could be arriving just in time for the DNC!
