Well, you know Santorum let a few things roll too. In fact he was sometimes a bull in a china shop. Some people are more passionate than others. I remember his wife making a joke at how she told him to “cool it.” Of course, he is not our presidential candidate, which is a da*n shame to me because I think he’s head and tails above Romney, but that’s how things have fallen. As far as Akin, you would best know the other candidates. I’m profoundly pro-life, and if a candidate is otherwise a conservative, I will go with the one who is most pro-life; the incest/rape exception is terribly bothersome to me, so I’ll go with the one who backs the protection of the young child and ultimately the rape victim as well. I’ll read up more on Akin and his potential replacements. I still don’t have too much trouble with what he said even though it was of course awkward, because he seems at heart to be a pro-life warrior. And our country desperately needs them all.
At the expense of a Senate seat to undo Obamacare? If he stays in and is able to eek out a win, what other cloak room utterances are coming our way that he cannot defend and has no idea that they may be scientifically unsound which serves only to damage the pro-life movement? What confidence do you have just on a single issue that he will not be ripe for capitulation on important key voting issues because he has other little science projects that can be used against him to sway his vote?
There are so many long range issues that many are not looking to or able to see because they are focused on the here and now. Big picture my FRiend, big picture.
