Sarah Palin is beside herself, totally influenced by the GOP-E.
Says who??? That was a $1.5 million commercial paid for by the McCaskill campaign attacking all three Republican candidates including Akin as being too conservative for Missouri. Apparently he's too conservative for you, but atleast he knew when he misspoke. Your poisonous comments were way over the top.
Caribou Barbie is polluting my Purity of Essence!
Let's remove your "two word tempest."
Sarah Palin is an expert on being taken out of context, and made to look dumb by the media and establishment. She is very loudly calling Akin an idiot and a jerk for not stepping down. If anyone should be able to parse his words to make them not seem dumb, or to find a sensible meaning, or to support a Tea Party Pro-Life conservative against the establishment, it would be her.
Tzarina, it's not the two words. It's all of it as a red flag that this guy is either a complete imbecile or a Democrat plant.
Akin’s not leaving. He’s already passed the deadline and would actually need a judges signature to leave and that’s no guarantee. He’s going to lose so why not run another candidate. The most politically inept and corrupt liberal could beat Akin once they start their smear campaign. And Obama will have a field day with it. At worst, it shows that some Republicans have some sense.
Akin is a revolting, selfish, greedy, psychotic, delusional, self centered, nut job who would rather sink the entire ship rather than let someone else at the wheel.
Words fail me for pissed off i am over this phoney holier than thou con man and his bs “principles” that are a scam and charade for his greed and self delusion.
.......I’ve read about 80 of these posts which is the count as I type and to me they nearly all miss the point or what should be the point.
The man, in an interview, used the term “legitimate rape”. Meaning (I guess) that “sometimes” a woman claimed rape when it “really” wasn’t a rape (as defined by statutes) and therefore it (the alledged rape) was not “legitimate”. That a woman “claims” rape SOMETIMES and a jury subsequently and SOMETIMES doesn’t believe her is surely not in dispute here?
So, my impression is that he meant the “legitimate” quip to apply to cases where the issue at hand for a court/jury was a he said/she said situation with NO WAY to discern the REAL truth which of course “sometimes” happens. And, to him, “those babies” were the ones he was seeking to protect from a mother, or potential mother, seeking to destroy a fetus based upon a “perhaps” unprovable and “perhaps” untruthful and perhaps expedient claim by her of “rape”.
I think this is what he said and meant, though my opinions and instincts are not omnipotent. Notwithstanding any of the foregoing, I support Sarah and always have and this whole “mess” has gotten so far out of whack that he should probably just go away. Winning the Senate trumps his personal career, ego and feelings. That this “incident” has morphed into a pro-life/pro choice argument reminds me of how 70% of black babies not having a father cannot even be talked about either without morphing into a “your a racist” argument!
IF my analysis is correct, then the man makes a good point even though many will virulently disagree with him! With so much on the line though, it was a dumbass thing to say. But, LOL, I’ve been wrong before and cannot, with certainty, lay claim to WHAT the guy had in his mind.
“The former Alaska governor should know that third party candidates help the opposition to win”
Tell that to Lisa Murkowski.
If it can work in Alaska, could it work in Missouri?
They are past the filing deadline for a 3rd party run in Missouri.
The only remaining option - assuming Akin won’t leave - is a write-in, which is cumbersome, difficult and expensive.
My point is that Palin should have done her homework before the TV appearance. She could have led the way with a plan of action, not a plan of conjecture and false hope.
The democrats have 100% chance of victory if there’s a solid write-in campaign.
Sarah...go home....
Yesterday was the last filing date for a Candidate in Missouri at the General Election.
http://www.sos.mo.gov/elections/calendar/2012cal.asp
THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTING PETITIONS FOR INDEPENDENT CANDIDATE NOMINATIONS FOR THE NOVEMBER 6, 2012 ELECTION IS July 30, 2012.

Just remember Sarah... a vote for a 3rd party is a vote for Claire McCaskill....
or at least that’s what the socalled conservatives @ FR tell me.
This would be a good idea. Even if they lose the seat (and let’s face it, it’s gone anyway as long as Akin stays in) it gives pro-lifers a chance to support a candidate they can be proud of. And it will be better for the pro-life movement in the long run, win or lose.
BUMP THAT POST!
A write-in campaign is a long shot, but it is the only way to win the seat.
If you don't believe me, just wait a couple of weeks. By then Akin will be ten to twenty points behind in the polls and every statement out of his mouth will be an apology. You can take it to the bank.
Maybe they should do like we do in Oklahoma, where you have to be a registered member of the party to vote in that party’s primary.
Then again, there’s really nothing stopping people from switching registration for the primary and switching back for the general election. But cross-overs are a still a lot less common in states like Oklahoma that have these rules than in states like Missouri that don’t.
+1
Somebody had to say it.
I don’t take checks I know will bounce to the bank.
The democrats aren’t guaranteed a win if Akin stays in. Dropping out would have been the politically best thing but we have to deal with things as they are.
Akin will not drop out. A write-in simply won’t win. These are the things you ha e to deal with.
