hmmm...knock ‘em back into the 19th century. Except in some places like Afghanistan, that would be an upgrade.

At what altitude would that have to be set off to not affect Israel?

Thanks for the heads up. Coast has been freakin boring lately for months and months now so I haven’t listened or checked the programs. Plus his Obama pimping was getting on my nerves. We conservatives are tolerant, but you gotta have something to keep a guy listening.

Not going to happen. The effects of an EMP going off above an industrialized nation are not going to be all that far off from using conventional nuclear bombs. Israel making use of precision strikes, or even a tactical nuke against the nuclear weapon facilities of Iran is one thing - effectively signing the death warrant of millions is another altogether.

Most of the nations of the world would be content to grouse publicly about Israeli warmongering for the prior, while secretly being thankful that the Israelis took care of it. The latter? Israel would wind up an international pariah that would make North Korea seem like a globally accepted nation by comparison.

“Israel would wind up an international pariah that would make North Korea seem like a globally accepted nation by comparison.”

Just how is that different from how they are being treated now?

Listen, much as I fear the outcome of such a thing, the only way to defeat your mortal opponent is to utterly wipe them out.

Just like was done in WWII. Civillians, everything.

If it attmepts to fight a war like the USA fights modern wars, it will lose, just like the USA loses.

If it goes war against Iran, it is going to have to wipe out many, many, many people, and it will likely lead to things I cannot even imagine.

At least a death warrant for every electronic device in Iran.

Danny Danonm (Likud,) gave an interview with Megyn Kelly this afternoon on Fox. He said straight up they will plunge all of iran into darkness. Period.

What would be really cool is if we could implement the HARRP secret Earth Quake weapon and level all of their cities.

Deniablity: Must been an act of Allah.

That is a good question but I think it would be easy to answer with a few calculations. The trick would be to limit the effects to just Iran which means probably that some areas of Iran would have to remain unaffected in order to avoid damaging neighboring countries. Even hitting say the central part of Iran would have disastrous effects on their economy and society. Many innocent people would die but many innocent people will die in any war scenario. The only problem is I don’t think it would damage anything in deep underground bunkers.

I think that would be worse than actually nuking the cities directly in terms of suffering and loss of life. The advantage would be no fallout on friendly countries. I have often wondered if that is not the purpose of the unmanned space plane that has been orbiting the Earth. Put a nuke calibrated to give off a maximum EMP, fly it over Iran or North Korea and whammo! Wipe out a whole country or region in a split second, or at least all of their electronics and power grid.

I dream all the time about super weapons with deniability to annihilate America’s enemies! Is that not normal?

For EMP effect it must be detonated at extremely high altitudes to cover a large area. A nuclear detonation many kilometers above the earth will not have any physical damage to structures on the ground. The radiation will be minimal. Follow the link for a good explanation of EMP.
