"As I said yesterday, Todd Akins comments were offensive and wrong and he should very seriously consider what course would be in the best interest of our country. Today, his fellow Missourians urged him to step aside, and I think he should accept their counsel and exit the Senate race."
A day late and more than a dollar short, Mitt.
OH THAT IS RICH! Romney has the audacity to call on someone to do what is in the best interests of the country?
Well Myth, you dropping out and letting a real conservative run would be setting a good example. Romney is dispicable. And the most extreme of hypocrits.
A freaking liberal telling a patriotic conservative to step down for the good of the country. Well Mr Lunitic Liberal Romney...heed your words and step down for the country you creep. Everytime I get to the point where I can vote for him, he gets all jerky on me. He is pure scum.
Like it or not, Willard is now Fearless Leader of the party.
I agree with Romney.
Yep. Akin had a terminal case of foot in mouth and should get while the getting is good. I mean there’s no way he can salvage this magnitude of stupid statement, and we’re just handing the seat to the Dems if he stays in.
If he had been a Democrat, what his stupidity would be a badge of honor.
Akin needs to step down. We can’t afford to loose the senate seat.
He will win the seat. I don’t know why you guys are so negative. He is a 100 percent conservatives. The only ones calling for him to step down are liberals like Romney.
Last thing he wants is to spend any more time on this than necessary. He has already been taken off message because of this moron. He should be piling the pressure on behind the scenes though.
Romney is right on this one.
“Akin needs to step down. We can’t afford to loose the senate seat.”
This is about more than just one Senate seat. He’ll be the face of the GOP and it will be 2006 all over again.
I totally agree with that.
Not even close to being accurate. Why would you say that?
And who would the Republicans run in his stead?
Gutless is as gutless does.
Actually, the leftists are drooling over the thought of Akin sticking it out. Don’t think for one second that they want to lose their whipping boy for November 6th.
Not even close to being accurate. Why would you say that?
The true conservatives in the party are Palin, Bachmann and Santorum and none of the three are calling for his release. In fact, I believe they are insulted by the liberals clamering the poor patriot to step down. It is repulsive how the liberal Republicans are bashing this poor guy.
Good call by Romney on this. He gave it a day after saying he should think about it. Then came down on it.
Time is running out it seems. Oh well.
great idea!
Let Akin run for President. I bet even with your support he might win 50 electoral votes.
Republicans are the biggest enforcers of political correctness.
