The Rush Limbaugh LIVE Radio Show Thread - Tuesday, August 21,2012

AND NOW . . . amidst billowing clouds of fragrant, aromatic first- and second-hand premium cigar smoke. . . it is time for . . . that harmless, lovable little fuzz ball, the highly-trained broadcast specialist, having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have, from behind the golden EIB microphone, firmly ensconced in the prestigious Attila-the-Hun chair at the Limbaugh Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies, serving humanity simply by showing up, and he’s not retiring until every American agrees with him, do NOT doubt him, with shrieks of joy at the mere mention of his name (that’s Rush, for those in Rio Linda),the Mandarin of Talk Radio, with talent on loan from G-d, at the cutting-edge of societal evolution, with half his brain tied behind his back — just to make it fair, the all-knowing, all-caring, all-sensing, all-feeling, all-concerned Maha-Rushie! America’s anchorman, truth detector, and doctor of democracy. A Real Man, a living legend, a way of life. Commander in Chief of U.S. Operation Chaos. Chief Waga-Waga El Rushbo of the El Conservo Tribe. Chief of the Patriotism Police. Leader of the Conservative Movement. A Weapon of Mass Instruction. El Rushbo (a little Spanish lingo, there). He is the man who is running America (you know it and I know it). He knows the Democrats like every square inch of his glorious naked body. He is ready to do what he was born to do—that’s host. Get ready to what you were born to do—that’s listen (and post your comments on the Rush Limbaugh LIVE Radio Thread).

Ushering Akin from the race is complicated by the fact that he has never been a candidate beholden to the party establishment. Since being elected to Congress in 2000, Akin has relied on a grassroots network of supporters. His Senate campaign is being run by his son.

Missouri election law allows candidates to withdraw 11 weeks before Election Day. That means the deadline to exit the Nov. 6 election would be 5 p.m. Tuesday. Otherwise, a court order would be needed to remove a candidate’s name from the ballot.

If Akin were to leave, state law holds that the Republican state committee has two weeks to name a replacement. The candidate would be required to file within 28 days of Akin’s exit.

Akin, a former state lawmaker who was first elected to the House in 2000, has a long-established base among evangelical Christians and was endorsed in the primary by more than 100 pastors.

So, what happens if he does drop out? Does the State committee have the ability just to select a replacement?

I'm sorry... I don't understand. Tea Party groups are rallying to get rid of Akin, or to keep him?

I'm *really* disappointed in what I'm hearing from Rush re: Akin. Rush is wimping out and not calling for Akin to step down.

I know what Akin was trying to say, but his comments were SO over the top - he has to go. If he stays, McCaskell will win the seat. We'll be stuck with that "witch" (rhymes with) for another 6 years.

I kind of am torn on the whole Akin thing. I hate the thought that the people who selected him in the primary process being overturned because he said something stupid. I hate the thought that just because a Republican (because realistically this will never impact a Dimocrat. They kill and rape women and are heralded as heroes) says a really stupid thing an entire primary can be invalidated. (And I say this as someone who donated to Steelman). I don’t like Akin. I didn’t want Akin in the House. I think he’s an idiot. But I am uncomfortable with undoing a primary in this manner.

less than a few things would make me mute el Rushbo, but I did.

The Golf Channel had their documentary about the life and career of BYRON NELSON

For my money, he is the finest man to walk God’s earth

What could kill Akin’s campaign will be the cutting off money spigot.

Personal opinion......the hand wringing and “panic” displayed by the GOP, et al,over Akin misspeaking is playing RIGHT INTO THE HANDS of the Democraps!

I have YET to see ANY republican display a tenth of this outrage for some of the outrageous things DEMs say!

Yeah, I think Rush needs to freshen up his schtick too, but I've been listening since the late 1980s.

However, other than Franken once denying Lieberman some extra time, when's the last time you heard ANYTHING from Franken?

Limbaugh's fine, and certainly a lot more happy and effective where he is.

Yes anyone they want- but Akin is not getting out, I will be surprised if he does. TODAY, he bought a week's worth of ads. The flyover states are stubborn.

Well as Rush would say, when a Dem says something outragous, it helps their resumes.

His comments were stupid. Stupid comments shouldn’t undo elections; otherwise, there’s no way Joe Biden would be in office, ever.

Rush just said that Akin must put his own interests aside and think of the best interests of both the people of MO and the USA.
