By your logic you would have been best served nominating a moderate. To begin with

I voted for the candidate I considered had the best campaign to beat Claire. Hardly would be called or considered a moderate. But there is NO doubt had the candidate I voted for won the primary, nobody but nobody would be hashing out what is 'legitimate rape'. This state still allows women to vote.

I hear your roar dear....but that is a dodge.

if Missouri is so Independent...small wonder...then without looking it up I will guess a stalwart righty like Akin won because it was a very large divided field or so many folks hate McKaskill or it's all a big plot cooked up by Axlerod and McKaskill

using the term legitimate rape can mean whatever supporters or detractors like

to me it's means convicted felonious rape...usually by a stranger and involving aggravated violence and surprise and trauma unlike say statutory which is simply something so grave as a 19 year old boy and a 16 year old girl having consensual sex in the back seat...for the record again...I loved back seat sex way back in the last century

i know distinctions get in the way of emotive reasoning but let's try

you can consider me on record that I do not ...I repeat...do not equate statutory rape as I described and traumatic rape by violent force by usually a stranger with either actual or implied threat to life being central in addition to violent penetration

what would be a better word than legitimate?

legitimate sounded ok to me but yet I'm not running for Senate in the show me state with a hostile media on my ass and pill popping talk show hosts and other GOPE shills and FOX news moderates who stood by as Newt was slaughtered and our dear RINO liberal GOP nominee all squealing I should step down for the good of conservatism and the country.

I mean really...what bullshit. The best thing for the country is they all go to hell in a bucket and put ABR at top of the ticket

and I actually like Rush..a lot..but he is weak and desires access more than anything

The GOP and talk radio are actually less conservatives than their voters and listeners ..sad fact.

meanwhile...I kinda like watching Akin stand up to Romney..Romney is a jerk...comes across as one to me. I don't have any problem with what he said, but I think I could have said it better or just declared no rape exclusion...I mean if rape is not a capital offense for the rapist then why do so many here wish it to be so for the baby?

I'll vote for him but I can't stand him,
