According to a report on Voice of Israel government-sponsored radio, Egypt has moved anti-aircraft missiles into the Sinai Peninsula.
The radio station's Arab affairs analyst, Eran Zinger, reported Saturday that Egypt has deployed both anti-aircraft and anti-tank missiles near Israels border in the Egyptian Sinai, without Israels permission.
Such equipment is prohibited in Sinai by the Egypt-Israel peace treaty. Egypt is trying to change the situation in Sinai, Zinger said.

Quick,somebody,write a stern letter!
this should be put in breaking news!
The most perilous moment in the early life of the 3rd Reich came when Hitler ordered the reoccupation of the Rhineland in contravention of the Treaty of Versailles. It was March 1936 and the French Army was the largest and most powerful in Europe. The leadership of the still rearming and expanding Wermacht knew it was still too weak to resist the French if they reacted militarily. But neither the French nor the other WW1 allies reacted militarily and the Nazis knew that they faced what were, for a time, toothless tigers. The West had become flaccid in its love of peace and would soon learn the price of coddling even a weak dictator.

I don’t generally like historical parallels, but it does seem that Israel faces a similar situation with Egypt. Unfortunately, the UN is moribund, Iran is developing a nuclear weapon, and the United States, under the leadership of President Obama and Secretary of State Clinton, is no lover of Israel’s security or freedom.
The question for Israel is this: Can it afford the wait needed to work the problem in the Security Council or should it act now knowing that military action in the Sinai would probably provide Morsi with the excuse needed to abrogate the peace treaty. If it is war, can or should Israel limit itself to just the Sinai or even just Egypt in the scope of its military operations??
Indirect fire! Target practice!
“signed with Arabs”
Signed with Muslims should be the phrase. Egyptians are not arabs.
no lover?
indeed. Obama, Clinton, and the DNC have
enabled and encouraged crucifixions of Christians in Egypt,
and plan the extermination of Israel.
It’s the Muslim religion and how it is taught and practised in that part of the world. The Muslim religion is not merely a religion but the underpinnings of a longed for transcendent world superstate. It is a politico-religious movement with teeth that uses even lying (TAQQAIYAH) to achieve its ends, when military conditions will not prevail(temporarily). Thus the similarities in behaviours and outlook between the differing races. They share the same one world government outlook, the Muslim World Caliphate which they see as superseding the United Nations as well as being united in their Jew and Christian hatred.
The islamists threw much of the know-how away when they overthrew the Mubarak government. I think now they may be making the classic arab mistake of equating advanced hardware with the knowledge of how to use it.
Egypt (like her Arab brothers) have abysmal maintenance practices - tanks, planes, missle systems - just having them is a far cry from maintaining them in a readiness condition.
Agreed, good analysis!
Wasn’t even in News/Current Events. Put it in that and Breaking. Hopefully it stays there.
Isn’t it just great to have a US President that watches out for the safety of our friend Israel, rather than someone of my muslim faith?
Morsi has historically held the 1979 treaty in contempt. Iran has become increasingly bellicose, calling for Israel's destruction multiple times over the past week.
Somehow, I doubt they're going to be discussing the weather.
Looks like Egypt is gonna get their AZeS whooped again!
1967 1973 2012?
That’s the reason, of course that Israel’s enemies are so bold. I think one of the reasons Israel hasn’t already attacked Iran is because any first strike will strengthen the resolve of Israel’s enemies. Many Iranians and others don’t agree with their leaders about Israel, but if Israel attacks and kills some of them, that will change. It’s never good to have all the Turks, Persians, and Egyptians in the world wanting to kill you if they are your neighbor. And, by the US not offering any support, Russia appears more likely to help Iran. These are not Israel’s best times, for sure.
