I wonder how meaningful it is to “forgive” someone who doesn’t ask for forgiveness and with whom you have zero contact. It all seems a little impersonal and abstract.

Well, there is that. There are some things we have no connection with and so it would be frivolous to get into a “legal” ritual of forgiving.

At least it stops them from living in your head rent free.

She can move on. The unrepentant will get their reward as well.
