KALISPELL, Mont. (AP) When Sara Weaver saw her father Randy struck in the shoulder by a government sniper's bullet in the Idaho wilderness in August 1992, she began to sprint back to the family's cabin on a mountaintop called Ruby Ridge.
As the 16-year-old closed in, her mother, Vicki, opened the cabin door and stood behind it, holding Sara Weaver's 10-month-old sister in her arms. Just then, a sniper's bullet struck her mother in the head, killing her.

FWIW, I just spent an hour trying to verify the many claims that Horiuchi received a FBI commendation for his "handiwork" at Ruby Ridge -- But I found no credible evidence that such was the case.
The fact that Horriuchi was commissioned to continue his cold blooded murders at Waco should be all you need to give credence to that claim.
Right. Earthly justice won’t be and was not served in this case.
I did some searching on google, and here’s what I found:

Mark
I downloaded it for $1.99 and we all watched it. Heart wrenching. The book will just piss you off. It gave me nightmares.
I didn’t say that justice should be short-circuited or that we shouldn’t seek justice, I’m just humbled and convicted by her ability to forgive the people who murdered her mom and brother and I am reminded of my shortcomings when it comes to forgiving others.
You’re welcome. I couldn’t believe it’s been 20 years. I was overseas when it happened so I don’t remember much about it.
Sara had no choice but to forgive, or to slowly go insane contemplating those events.
Thanks. I did find it at Amazon, please see post #65.
Sorry. I consider this the daily WTF story.
I’ve always heard the words but seldom saw it in any meaningful action. The hatred and lack of forgivenes spews from the mouths of thousands, especially in election years. Now I hear things like, “It’s not up to me to forgive. It’s up to God.”
Maybe Randy’s daughter is calling it forgiveness and Bill Clinton called it compartmentalizing. Maybe the words mean the same thing. Both done to keep from being driven insane. I don’t know.
All I know is I watched Waco on my TV screen. I screamed my lungs out and sobbed uncontrollably at what I was seeing. I broke down when the story of Ruby Ridge unfolded. I watched Bo Gritz be used.
Someone wrote the following on an unnamed blog. It’s just hanging out there for someone to bump into.

“They just confirmed Eric Holder as the Attorney General. Holder, of course, was the Deputy Attorney General during the Clinton Administration.
In those years, we had tragedies such as Ruby Ridge and Waco Texas. Mysteriously, those things stopped happening once the Clinton administration was out of office. Now that were getting Clinton Administration Part II (Change that you can believe in!), I give it a year, max, before the ATF or DHS or some other federal alphabet soup agency gets around to killing Americans who just want to be left alone.
Dont forget, you heard it here first .”
Interesting, we now have “fast and furious.” We have the murder of Judge Roll (who was investigating Fast and Furious long before the public became aware of its being) by an unlikely assassin.
And everywhere, you find the same cast of ambitious players. Directing the cast is always Eric Holder, the Untouchable.
I guess you forgive when there’s nothing left to do. We’re all just human.
You say that like it’s a bad thing.
You got that right.
That's not the way the rules of evidence work -- not even on FR...
FWIW, it is my personal belief that Horiuchi should have been executed (or, at least, been convicted of manslaughter) for that shot. The fact that he was allowed to continue his murderous career is bad enough -- even without the insult of a yet-to-be-proven (to me) commendation in the mix...
Ephesians 6:12 says it best—For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Thank you for this post! It’s not easy forgiving someone who hasn’t asked for forgiveness, but if you don’t do it, you have to drag around that anger forever and it’s bad for one’s health. She looks beautiful and not bitter. God love her.
You’re welcome. Yes, there is a cost to carrying around old baggage. God has healed her heart and is sustaining her, even as she mourns the loss of her family members. We can never forget what has happened but those directly involved must find a way to cope with it. I’m very happy for her and I hope her dad has found peace as well.
Wasn’t Loni Noriuchi indicted or something? Was that his name? I think I remember somewhere that justice was served? Where is Loni today?
Lon Horiuchi was indicted but the charges were dropped. There were a few previous posts about it and Wikipedia has info on the charges but no further info on his whereabouts.
