Now, if you are not an idiot (the doctor here clearly is) then you put that together with 1000 individual incidences of intercourse which are not rape to get a statistic which actually would mean something. This would be called comparing the data to a control group.
You can’t do that, however, if you have manipulating the statistics as a goal.
You don’t need a control group.
You need to know the rate of pregancy among rape victims to judge whether a law criminalizing abortion warrants a rape exception.
BTW The average couple trying to get pregnant has intercourse about 110 times before getting pregnant.
And how many of those 1000 go to the hospital and are administered the morning after pill? Considering that is normal protocol for rape victims, no wonder there is few pregnancies.
