This doc will retire before Obamacare is fully implemented. Even if I have to work at walmart to put the kids through school. I’m no stranger to hard work...I will find some way to finish outriding my kids through college. It’s my daughter in pre med I worry about. I’m trying hard to get her to make another choice

It wasn’t a random slip up....Obambi used the same phrase at a second fund raiser later in the day....Rush/Levin were all over this....must be in their transcripts.

As Freud would say “What we have here is a case of projection.” Obama who’s own academic records and accomplishments have been challenged as fraudulent or worse never really happened, is projecting his own vapidity on people of real merit. Obama is a vapid fraud and failure.

“doctors would rather take out tonsils than treat a sore throat because it pays better”-—

Nah, this was just mind-numbing, jaw-dropping stupidity, from a guy who has two kids yet. If he knows what any field of medicine does, it ought to be pediatrics. Actually, the pediatrician, who is treating sore throats chronically, has a financial incentive to keep the tonsils in, since it’s ENT that removes them and gets the fee for the surgery, thus supposely removing the nidus for the infections. I suspect he has a particular animus to the medical profession because buried deep in his medical record he has a diagnosis like “drug-induced psychosis” from an ER visit or hospital stay during his days at Columbia that he frets about. But really, he doesn’t know much about anything in particular, so it’s best to attribute it all to stupidity.

This article is right on target, emphasizing the point that Obama has a visceral contempt for the medical profession.

But Obama is merely the most current and powerful of a long list of leftist politicians that have been demeaning and insulting the medical profession publicly ever since the idea of socialized medicine became a cause celebre for them, starting way back in the early twentieth century in the US and even earlier in Europe.

The reasons for this lie primarily in the left's realization that you can't bring about socialized medicine without government propaganda and policy calculated to produce a feeling of unease among the masses with regards to the competence of the medical care that the "private" sector provides. Plus, moving the medical care system toward ever increasing government control is aided and abetted by belittling the physicians' status in society, lowering the medical profession's image of itself, and thereby reducing resistance within the profession to ever more statist hegemony over their professional and personal lives.

re: Herein is the essence of President Obama’s ideology. It is one that not only diminishes personal achievement, but goes on to claim that the fruits that are borne out of the toil leading to that achievement are to be shared with the state and hence everyone.

This essence of Obama’s ideology is reflected in one of the major differences between Republicans and Democrats with the question, “To whom do the fruits of labor belong?” To a Republican, the fruits of ones labor belongs to the individual, with a small portion of the fruit of their labor going to provide for the legitimate functions of government. To a Democrat, the fruits of ones labor belongs to the government, which “graciously” allows the worker to keep a portion for himself.

Obama Says: Doctor, You Did Not Graduate From Medical School

Well, without his records and transcripts, do we really know if Hussein graduated from anywhere, or did he just use Soros' money to buy diplomas?

That was no Freudian slip. The remark was a deliberate statement of contempt for the principles of self-reliance, entrepreneurship, independence, success.

A while back I had read a news article about a Dr. in Sutter County CA that had his payment for a visit for medical patients cut to $12, and he said he was losing money but he understood the budget cuts were needed. I emailed him and reminded him that the unionized social workers that merely processed people into the system made good wages with lots of time off, free healthcare and great pensions, all taxpayer paid, and they had fought to have the DR. rate cut instead of theirs. The Dr. had to work long hours, pay his own insurance, pay for his employees, and plan for his own retirement (which was likely delayed for years getting education and paying school loans).

"You didn't build that," along with "You don't own that," and "It's for the common good" are the roots of marxist collectivism. There is no individual worth; one has value only as part of a collective.

Groups are moved around like tiles on a "RISK" board, assigned their necessary place by god-like czars who know better than they what is best for society. Resistance to that tyranny -- assertion of individual rights and authority -- is marked as "hostility to the State" and the offender "re-educated" or eliminated.

Barack and Michelle have obvious chips on their shoulders making the "owed fealty" an arrogant reality.

CHICAGO — Barack Obama first kissed the woman who would become his wife outside a Chicago ice cream shop — and now there’s a [3,000 lb.] plaque to prove it.

Beyond foolish in a nation of hurt.

Romney/Ryan are the Statesmen we've been waiting for.

He is such a pompous ass. There would be NO government if it weren’t for WE THE PEOPLE, being FORCED to give them more and more money.

Not only are the financial incentives and art of medicine disappearing, the prestige and respect are gone as well.

The speech in which Obama claimed that doctors operate inappropriately for money was the same speech in which he criticized the Cambridge police. The public outcry was about the police. The public was silent about the slur on doctors.

Even the whole discussion of how expensive medical care is demeans the healthcare profession. The expense is due in large part to medical advances that have enhanced and lengthened life. Patients come in expecting to pay nothing and have their insurance cover it all. Does their car insurance cover an oil change or only come into play for major damage? Do they question all their computer/cell phone costs which look far different than the amounts they spent 20 years ago? That advancement in technology they are happy to pay for.
