Saw this a few days ago and sent it to my daughter (who hates snakes) and asked her if she wanted one for her birthday. She directed some very inappropriate language my way.

Someone posted this on my FB page a day or two ago. I thought it was a real snake. REALLY pretty, I cannot believe how real it looks!

The fact that the cake makers can do this is not a huge surprise — pretty much any shape can be made by starting with a series of stacked circular or rectangular cakes and carving them into the desired shape.

What makes this one remarkable is the precision and level of detail; the theory is simple, but the execution requires a lot of skill.
