Russian female punk band Pussy Riot found guilty of hooliganism over Putin protest at church site

(CBS/AP) MOSCOW - A Russian judge found three members of the provocative punk band Pussy Riot guilty of hooliganism on Friday, in one of the most closely watched cases in recent Russian history.
The judge said the three band members committed hooliganism driven by religious hatred and offending religious believers.
The three were arrested in March after a guerrilla performance in Moscow's main cathedral in February calling for the Virgin Mary to protect Russia against Vladimir Putin, who was elected to a new term as Russia's president a few days later.
They face a maximum seven years in prison. The sentence is to be handed down later Friday.

All women, no matter how “hot” or “not guilty” have the potential to look like poop on a bad day.
Take away the shower, hair dryer, make-up, nice clothes, supportive undergarments, right lighting, surgical “corrections”, digital enhancement, etc. and I’d have to say 99% of women would be voted as “Guilty” by the men here.
As I have said before, be real , guys. Most of you would be happy to have a woman willingly spend anytime with you at all, as long as she was clean and not liberal.
Just ignore the in-your-face name of the band, but that is their name and omitting the name would omit a factor of the story that tells us a lot about what kind of people they are. Besides, I like kitties too!
That should be found “not guilty” just for having the balls to call themselves “Pussy Riot”.

I've since googled the band, and they are really seem to be a bunch of punk losers who perform many offensive stunts and then hide behind "free speech" and "artistic freedom". They have stopped traffic to perform their impromptu "concerts" on top of buses; had public sex in museums, etc. Apparently, one of their works of "performance art" involved one of them taking a frozen chicken from a supermarket and shoving it up her vagina and then publicly "giving birth" to said chicken outside the store.
Obviously, they are scofflaws and are not being punished for merely "criticizing Putin". The conviction appears to be for a flash-mob of an Orthodox Church where they performed their song "Holy Shit" before being removed. Apparently, jail is the only way to stop these bitches.

What's lost between the band's vulgar name and their attractiveness compared to Russia's cookie-cuttier, auto-tuned pop singers is the fact that while we have the luxury to take freedom of speech for granted, other nations are not so fortunate.
You forgot to include “Dick in the ass” punk performance in a courtroom, “mentopop” performance which was about robbing a supermarket wearing a mix of police uniform and a priest’s dress, burnind down one and turning upside down another police vehicle, a series of sexual assaults on police women in subways etc.
Pussy riot is a feminist wing of a neo-bolshevik group “Vojna” aka “War”. Their activity is centered against a church and law-enforcement.
These chicks are not to be confused with Vladimir Vysotsky.
But they weren’t on trial for any of these things. If you start accepting kangaroo court for things you like you might soon get it for other things also.

When leftists start storming the churches and naming Christians their political enemies, it’s a big deal. They are hatefilled, blood thirsty, evil turds.
If Christians fail to get organized legally and politically to stop them from attacking Christians and our rights here, we will get to live Russia’s bloody history. Leftist hatred of Jesus is not a passing political mood or game.

They were on trial for flash-mobbing and desecrating a church, not for criticizing Putin. Also, I would not be surprised if their past actions led the government to feel they needed to crack down on Pussy Riot, as they were apparently not going to stop.

And worse. They chose Moscow cathedral on purpose. Cathedral was destroyed by the Communists in 1931 and restored with donations of ordinary people, not state, in 1992, when Russians lived in abject poverty. Non-existing band wearing balaclavas and interrupting church service, yelling "Holly shit" and calling Patriarch Kiril a bitch, it is too reminiscent of The Militant Atheists that roamed Russia during Stalin time and spread terror of Christians. Thousands of priests and millions of Christian flock were murdered, tens of thousands of places of worship destroyed. The provocation had nothing to do with Putin. It was a terrorist act against Christians and daring state to enforce laws when foreign powers meddle in the Russian internal affair. Only racism towards Russians as a people and the hatred of Christians prevents many to see what it really is.
