On Medicare, the Romney campaign is borrowing the strategic logic of a long-ago military legend.
Taking command of the French ninth army in 1914 as it retreated before the Germans, Marshal Ferdinand Foch uttered his immortal words: Hard pressed on my right. My center is yielding. Impossible to maneuver. Situation excellent. I attack.

I don’t get it.
Romney’s passion died when he started trying to pretend that he is a republican.
Do you know what political issue, that Mitt Romney cares about, that is conservative?

Uh, could we start with financial responsibility, ending Obama care, just two small issues! Remember Romney left a surplus in MA.

Situation excellent. I attack. Well, not personally, of course. He just sent a bunch of his troops to their death.

Love this article.
And Lowry vs. Maddow was incredible to watch.

Well, not personally, of course. He just sent a bunch of his troops to their death. Exactly. Pretty much fanatical about the efficacy of the offensive, just as the Japanese were in WWII. Leaving bodies stacked like cordwood up against barbed wire . . .

Rather than comparing the Romney/Ryan to a fanatical attack at poor odds, I would call it merely a sensible refusal to retreat from a defensible position to an indefensible one. A tactic which George W. Bush would have done better to employ.
Especially wrt the 16 words . . .

#1-You can be sure he’s not going to apologize for America.
#2-You can be sure he’s not going to bow to a Saudi King while representing America.
Those 2 work for me!

Exactly. It's a poor analogy and a poor analysis and ends up on a sour note. Read the end of the article and you see Lowry is pretty pessimistic on this subject and just trying to put on a happy face.
Meanwhile, among adults, the issue itself has to be treated seriously. What did Obama do? What is he likely to do? What is Romney going to do? These are the points that must be repeated, not some silly analogy with some long-forgotten WWI general.

Be honest about Mr. RomneyCARE.
Mr. RomneyCARE taxed Massachusetts to HeLL
AND left it in the tank.
Mr. RomneyCARE was chosen by Mr. Soros and the DNC
because he supports Obama. HE WILL DO NOTHING.

Mr. RomneyCARE, the chosen loser and author of DEATH PANELs,
is SO WEAK that last night his WIFE (yes, his wife)
defended him on NBC again.
Mr RomneyCARE NEVER defends himself.
Because, like Obama, he is the CHOSEN ONE.

"Mr. RomneyCARE taxed Massachusetts to HeLL AND left it in the tank." Massachusetts ranks 11th in total taxation in the US. She gets the bulk of her revenue from income and sales taxes, both of which remained constant during Romney's term as governor there. When he started as governor, Massachusetts had a $3 billion deficit. When he left, the deficit was zero.
What's the basis for your statement?

Lookee here Dio ol' buddy ...
Your disdain for Romney is well documented. I'm no big fan of Romney myself. HOWEVER: it is going to come down to conservatives doing out of necessity what the allies did in World War II when it came to Uncle Joe Stalin, which is that we didn't particularly like the miserable sonuvabitch, but we needed him to fight the Nazis from the East, and that is why we sent him millions of tons of lend lease assistance because the GREATER enemy was in Berlin in the form of Hitler, and as distasteful as it might sound, in that situation "the enemy (Stalin) of our enemy (Hitler) was our friend, or at least our convenient ally".
I don't like Mitt Romney. But if that joker can put 0bama into permanent retirement and clean out that pack of left wing mongrels from the White House, I'll back him just like we backed Stalin, and stay focused on the GREATER enemy, you do know who that is don't you?
