An Essex County Democratic lawmaker today urged Gov. Chris Christie to break from his party and use his growing national profile to condemn laws that have popped up across the country requiring voters to show identification.
I challenge Gov. Christie, said Assemblyman John McKeon (D-Essex). Gov. Christie has now the national spotlight. Hell be the keynote speaker at the convention. If he is the leader he purports to be, he will renounce this thinly veiled attempt to disenfranchise voters, said Assemblyman John McKeon (D-Essex) at a press conference in West Orange with two other Democratic assembly members and a liberal watchdog group. New Jersey does not have a voter ID law, although three Ocean County Republicans state Sen. Christopher Connors and Assembly members DiAnne Gove and Brian Rumpf have introduced a bill (S200) that would require voters produce valid state or federal photo identification. McKeon said the chances of the legislation passing any time soon are slim because the Legislature is controlled by Democrats.

Christie should challenge these idiots to break from their party.
They aren’t even subtle in their intentions, are they?
These people are fools.....they keep this up even old down the line democrats may give up the ship
I know they HAVE to say stuff like this, to protect the rat base of dead and nonexistent voters......but do they know just how stupid it sounds?
disenfranchising voters is allowing illegals, dead rats, dogs and cats from voting?
if the dead can vote, then they need to show up in person with a picture ID card. i will personally make sure they are allowed to vote.
Blessings, bobo
I had to show ID, check a box affirming that I’m a legal citizen and worst of all, I ONLY GOT TO VOTE ONCE!!!!
do they also proest when they need to present a photo ID to drive their car, by alcohol, cigaretttes, or firearms, or to open a bank account, or to get a job, or to see an R rated movie, or to purchase a playboy, or to get a passport, or a CCW permit, etc?
Democrats believe they have a Constitutional right to cheat in elections. That’s really why they believe voter ID laws are Unconstitutional.
WRONG. If he's a leader he'll do all in his power to make sure legal, eligible citizens vote ONCE in every election, and implement whatever processes and protocols are necessary to insure the same. He will also speak harsh realities at Republican conventions.
Were you traumatized by the event, showing your ID at the registration table sounds positively horrible!
More importantly, how did you possibly find the time to go to the DMV for that ID and who did you find to help you navigate the process? Did someone loan you the $10 or did you have to skip coffee for a week?
The shame of it all! :~)
It’s nice to watch the communist DemocRAT Party sweating all these calls for voter I.D. Those sorry bastards know their days are numbered once only Americans are able to vote and everyone will only be allowed to vote once. It’ll be over for the ‘RATS.
Ha! In Michigan, we have to show ID to buy Tylenol Cold
I watched Gangs of New York last night and I can’t get ove the voting scene.
“But I already voted twice!”
“And you claim you’re doing your part? Get back in there and vote again.”
Has Christie got as much guts as Brewer? I sure hope so, or he’s on the list to go!
I think they do. Some poor sap on Hannity got destroyed by Sean and Bernard McGuirk on the topic. He was embarrassed himself trying to defend his position.
In many states, THANKS TO THE NANNY STATE DEMOCRATS, you need A PHOTO I.D. in order to buy this product because it can be used to make methamphetamine.
Voting without photo I.D. can be used to make VOTER FRAUD!
"clean 'em up, shave their beards and send 'em back in to vote again"
Sounds like the Chicago way!
The headline should read: “DEMOCRATS ENCOURAGE VOTER FRAUD!”. Every time the subject of voter ID comes up, shout that out. If you cannot provide proof of citizenship, you are not allowed to vote, period. Use their tactics against them!.
