On Thursdays edition of MSNBCs The Cycle the group discussed Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romneys assertion that President Obama should take [his] campaign of division and anger and hate back to Chicago. Co-host Touré saw what he believes to be explicit racial connotations beneath what Romney was saying, calling it the niggerization of the campaign.
That really bothered me, he said. You notice he said anger twice. Hes really trying to use racial coding and access some really deep stereotypes about the angry black man. This is part of the playbook against Obama, the otherization, hes not like us.
I know its a heavy thing, I dont say it lightly, but this is niggerization, Touré said to the apparent shock of his co-panelists. You are not one of us, you are like the scary black man who weve been trained to fear.
Naturally this led to a battle between Touré and conservative co-host S.E. Cupp. She took particular issue with the fact that Touré admitted that VP Joe Bidens chains comments were divisive, but is now calling Romney a racist for saying the Obama campaign is angry.
Do you see how dishonest that is? she asked.
Touré denied calling anyone a racist, which prompted Cupp to say, Certainly you were implying that Mitt Romney and the base will respond to this dog-whistle, racially-charged coding, and hate Obama, the angry black man?
Absolutely, he replied.
Thats so irresponsible, Cupp answered back.
This is not a revolutionary comment, Touré said. This is a constituency all-white party that rejects the black vote.
You have two white guys in Joe Biden and Mitt Romney, Cupp clarified. Joe Biden made the overtly racial comment and has a history of making bigoted remarks. Mitt Romney was responding to the comment. Yet he is the one responsible for the whole Republican history of racism in politics?
Thats not what Touré is saying, co-host Krystal Ball interjected. Youre twisting his words.
No, he can speak for himself, Cupp shot back.
Hes using the playbook Republicans have been using for decades now, Touré concluded.
Take a look below, via MSNBC:
Sorry;RummyChick beat me to the posting, fair and square. Keep hers, and axe mine. ;)
Is niggerization even a word?
We are living in Bizarro Amerika.
Shouldn’t that be N-wordization?
Just trying to get ratings.
Yep - I, for one, use “code words” all the time. Been doing it for decades. There were two in that first sentence. Can you spot them?
This “coding” thing is completely our of control. I would bet good money that pretty much anything Romney said, according to this racist moron, would somehow be considered code for some kind of racism. It just never ends.
The DNC sees the world through the lens of race. They have throughout their history and they continue to do so.
They can’t help themselves. Its who they are.
Toure’ has it precisely reversed. If you do not automatically see the world and the people in it in racial terms, you are probably a Republican. If you do, you are probably a Democrat. That is the great unspoken divider in American politics.
MSNBC makes North Korean state media seem calm and balanced by comparison. Sometimes I really think that a conservative, hyper-rich prankster set up the whole MSNBC network just to highlight leftist idiocy.
He’s playing Jessys card. Now he’s on the board, we’ll get to see and hear more of this loud mouth racist rants as we get closer to cutting zer0
PMSNBC has a show called, “The Cycle”? Really? Do they take Midol like M&M’s?

“Hes really trying to use racial coding and access some really deep stereotypes about the angry black man. “
Yea right, as everyone at MSNBC does and has used “racial coding” and attempts to “access some really deep stereotypes” about “white” Conservative politicians.
As one black preacher has said about those people, they need to take the suggestion in one of Michael Jackson’s lyrics and “look in the mirror” instead of falsely attributing their own sins to everyone else.
Touré should be fired immediately. Demand it. if S.E.Cupp had said what he said, they would, but she has too much class for this JerrySpringer show on a network no one watches.
I don't get this continual insistence that we all speak in 'code'. I don't do 'code'. I have something to say, I just say it. Same applies to all of the Conservatives that I know.
Must be another leftist projection thing.
And I don't use slurs. I hear them from time to time, mostly out of blue collar Democrat types.
I get so very tired of being lied about.
Maybe this explains it. I’ve been having a really hard time making sense of nobama’s words. Now it appears my difficulty is caused by not knowing the right code words.
Can somebody please share these code words? Thanks.
