Leo Gerard and the Chicago Thugs - Let's follow the bread crumbs, shall we?
The American Spectator ^ | August 16, 2012 | Jeffrey Lord

.........."As all of America now knows, the Obama SuperPAC has run an ad with former steelworker Soptic essentially accusing Governor Romney of killing his wife......

On September15, Leo Gerard's appointment to the Trade Advisory group was announced by -- yes indeed -- the Office of the Press Secretary. Said the White House of Gerard in its release:...

>>>Leo W. Gerard is the International President of United Steelworkers. He is a member of the AFL-CIO's Executive Committee and chairs its Public Policy Committee. Mr. Gerard is co-chairman of the BlueGreen Alliance, and a board member of the Apollo Alliance, Campaign for America's Future, and Economic Policy Institute. In addition, he is a member of the executive committees of the IMF and ICEM global labor federations. In conjunction with Unite the Union, Mr. Gerard was instrumental in creating Workers Uniting, the first global union.<<<

......Now.

Let's start with a question about Joe Soptic.

Take a look at this clip from a video produced for the 2008 United Steelworkers convention that took place in Las Vegas.

While no names are mentioned, clearly one of the stars is union president Leo Gerard.

But take a closer look.

A series of issues is flashed on screen, one being "health care." Along with union members saying a buzzword here and there. At 1:20 there appears a man in a hardhat who looks remarkably like -- Joe Soptic. The now infamous union member who is everywhere accusing Mitt Romney of killing his wife. This man appears several more times in the video, specifically at 2:26, 2:44, 2:51, 3:10, 5:03, 6:37, and 6:50.

In other words, if in fact that is Joe Soptic appearing in that 2008Steelworkers video with LeoGerard, it is more than conceivable that Gerard knew as far back as 2008 exactly who Joe Soptic was......

Tough to follow at times, but just more evidence of the corruption of the left.

ALSO This Soptic clown is in the Steel Workers video in 2008. Yet we breathlessly heard from the Media the story of poor Joe losing his Steel Workers job well before 2008, and having to take a Janitor position. This needs to be flushed out and explained.

6:37 is the a good spot on the video to compare -- though he's featured throughout the piece.

Jeffery Lord (along with back-up from other reporters) lays this out very well. If read from the source (from the beginning) it is easy to follow.

AND

....."The Steelworkers' executive council appointed Gerard [George Becker's] successor on February 21, 2001. Gerard quickly assembled a slate of supporters (many of them incumbent officers in the international union), and announced he would run for the presidency in the union's regularly scheduled elections in November 2001. He was elected without opposition to four-year terms in 2001, 2005 and 2009. Gerard was the second Canadian to head the United Steelworkers, after Lynn R. Williams (1983-1994)."..... Source

All this reminds me of Teamster President Jimmy Hoffa warming up a crowd at a rally for Barack Obama Sept 2011: "President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march. Let's take these son of bitches out and give America back to an America where we belong."

>>>>"We got to keep an eye on the battle that we face: The war on workers. And you see it everywhere, it is the Tea Party. And you know, there is only one way to beat and win that war. The one thing about working people is we like a good fight. And you know what? They've got a war, they got a war with us and there's only going to be one winner. It's going to be the workers of Michigan, and America. We're going to win that war," Jimmy Hoffa said to a heavily union crowd.<<<<<

Good old Joe has been a media star since the plant closed in 2001. The Kansas City Star chose him of all people to do a story on the plant closing. Then he can afford in 2008 to go to this convention and again be highlighted. Reuters did a story on him in January, Obama did his ad in January, by June he is in the Obama sponsored telephone interview, and of course the super PAC ad in August. Joe seems like the Democratic go-to guy for bad news on Bain
