GOP pros fret over Paul Ryan (GOP operatives strike again like 2008)
Politico ^ | Tuesday August 14, 2012

Posted on 08/14/2012 11:22:58 AM PDT by Bigtigermike

“I think it’s a very bold choice. And an exciting and interesting pick. It’s going to elevate the campaign into a debate over big ideas. It means Romney-Ryan can run on principles and provide some real direction and vision for the Republican Party. And probably lose. Maybe big,” said former President George W. Bush senior adviser Mark McKinnon.

Joked another: “The most popular phrase in Washington right now is: ‘I love Paul Ryan, but …’”

And the more pessimistic strategists don’t even feign good cheer: They think the Ryan pick is a disaster for the GOP. Many of these people don’t care that much about Romney — they always felt he faced an improbable path to victory — but are worried that Ryan’s vocal views about overhauling Medicare will be a millstone for other GOP candidates in critical House and Senate races.

The most cutting criticism of Ryan, shared only by a handful of strategists, is that Ryan isn’t ready to be president — or doesn’t come across as ready. A youthful man who looks even younger than his 42 years, Ryan could end up labeled as Sarah Palin with a PowerPoint presentation, several operatives said.

“He just doesn’t seem like he can step into the job on Day One,” said the strategist, who professed himself a Ryan fan.

“This is the day the music died,” one Republican operative involved in 2012 races said after the rollout. The operative said that every House candidate now is racing to get ahead of this issue.

Exactly. They’ve infiltrated and undermined every other institution like termites, it’s not likely that they wouldn’t have done the same to the Republican party.

Steve Schmidt proved to us in 2008 that he is a living lie. There’s no reason to start believing him now.

This story is as phony as harry Reid’s “I have an unnamed source who tells my Mitt’s not paying taxes”

I dont believe these are are Republican operatives. These are ‘unnamed’ because they are not real repubs and/or dont exist.

Paul Ryan is so radical that he managed to win his own district by a whopping 29% margin in the same election where Juan McCain still managed to lose it by 4% to ObaMao.

The looters and liars in Washington usual label a good Republican as Stupid or Evil. A hard thing to pin on Ryan as he is Smart, likable and experienced. Of course they will try because he is the most feared enemy of all: an honest effective man who believes in American Liberty!

I thought he was pretty honest about his hatred for Sarah. He even let left-wing journalists use him as a source for their campaign hit-piece (”Game Change”). And I didn’t say I believed him, I just repeated what he said.

Guys, in case you didn’t figure it out from last time, there really are Republican and even conservative pros who think and talk like that. The reporters who are reporting this stuff aren’t making those guys up. They’re not reporting their stuff off the record or on background because the sources don’t exist. They’re doing that because the sources are mostly cowardly...well, I originally called them “bitches”, but I shouldn’t do that. I like dogs.

How many of those quotes do you imagine were made up by Romney himself?

He needs an excuse for when he loses ~ and he will lose given that he's alienated most of the factions in the Republican coalition.

If these people really feel the need to yak this to the press, then put a name to it.

You want attention, then grow a d*ck and get it the right way.

Just went back over the last month of your waste of bandwith. You seem to be a true believer.

If I had time I'd go back and check to see what you were saying about Sarah during the 2008 campaign.

Thee were no operatives named in the media in 2008 that were attacking Sarah and many voters believed them......and here we go again. Many fail to realize that the GOP is infiltrated by democrats or mercenaries for hire who sabotage people all the time

Wanna bet some money on it?

I mean some real money. How about $7k? I mean you are so sure....you'd think you would bet.

We can have a well known FReeper hold our money. I'm willing...are you?

They see the GOP simply as a job opportunity. If the GOP gets in, they get in. The president is just one person but they want jobs for all the RINO’s in squishy congressional districts who may be affected.

Many think...even here..that if you say you are a Pubby...you are. Actions always speak loudly...words not so much.

Frankly I don't gamble. In fact, I don't believe you should gamble either. It is sinful and it harms society as a whole leading to destruction of families, abandonment of children, and the murder of the unborn.

Best you don't associate with gamblers.

Auntie Em! Auntie Em!

Please... This is a Politico hit piece, finding quotes in or out of context from “republicans” that none of us care about.

And all because the Ryan pick energized the republican party and they desperately are trying to find a new theme.

How many of you believe that now House members are having to get ahead of the Ryan budget .... WHEN THE HOUSE ALREADY PASSED THE RYAN BUDGET!!!

Stop believing every stupid liberal hit piece.
