In the first 24 hours after his selection to be Mitt Romneys vice presidential candidate, LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender) advocacy groups have declared war on Wisconsin Republican Rep. Paul Ryan, targeting him as a villain.
But by doing so, LGBT activists risk putting a spotlight on controversial issues high on the cultural agenda of the political left, including same-sex marriage and open LGBT behavior in the military, issues that might not fly as high in some less-liberal regions of the nation, including some swing states.
The Human Rights Coalition produced one of the most graphic attacks (above), summarizing the LGBT political opposition to Ryan.

That reminds me! I’m hungry for some Chick Fil A!!
Make Mr. Ryan the candidate for POTUS, like Mr. Romney said.
By his enemies, shall ye know him.
That sign would make a great Bumper sticker for Ryan.
I agreed with all 4 of the issues.
Make Ryan the Presidential candidate.
Now Ryan is the kind of Mitt “waffle” that even the luggbutts didn’t count on. They sure didn’t expect to get “betrayed” like this by Mr. Massachusetts Gay Marriage.
Mitt’s waffle iron is still worrisome, but this seems to at least show he’s amenable to political pressure to do the right thing, the thing that conservative America wants.
What an odd collection of issues? Why would any of these affect the vast majority of Americans?
Am I to assume that these folks are only interested in their very narrow initiatives, and not in the well being and future of the country and their fellow Americans?
Sounds a bit like that whole chick-fil-a thing - which has pretty much come to nothing.
One gets the feeling that neither Romney nor Ryan will lose any sleep over this.
As stated in the piece, the LGBT advocacy groups are assuming that their own lying polls are correct: That public opinion has shifted so in favor of gay rights that by exposing Ryan, many will be turned off to the GOP ticket.
Of course what they are forgetting is that their polls did not prepare them for the big surprise in May from the swing state of North Carolina - something which may occur once more in the other swings.
because of the perverted view of Catholicism proposed by Pelosi, Biden, Kennedy and other prominent democrats, they look at someone that has lives and believes the word as out of the mainstream. This rating should increase his popularity.
Yes, it is stupid. And yes, I think being part of a politically correct agenda will increase one’s stupidity.
I think if Ryan and Romney could switch places, the GOP would win the election.
I think it will increase his popularity.
No, there is still a majority of America who is disgusted at how far this has gone. They might have been willing to wink indefinitely at queer neighbors, but drew the line when they were told what they must call marriage.
That should be a campaign poster for Ryan.
Yup. You are assuming correctly. What you also are forgetting is just how very much the LGBT Coalition has believed its own lying polls: They actually believe that the majority of Americans sit around biting their nails and asking, “But will he be good to the gays? If not, he must be rejected.”. They are delusional.
I was thinking the same thing!
Didn’t they learn from the last time they tried this type of stunt?
“LGBT COALITION DECLARES WAR ON RYAN”
What are they going to do, march around half-naked, talk about their crotches, and kiss each other?
Have a chicken sandwich, you drama queens.
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO PAUL RYAN!
