On a special broadcast of MSNBC’s “Hardball” on Saturday, weekend morning host Melissa Harris-Perry expressed her displeasure with the selection of Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan as Mitt Romney’s running mate.
In particular, Harris-Perry took issue with Ryan quoting Thomas Jefferson’s line in the Declaration of Independence, in which he declared rights come from God and nature and not from government.
“The thing I really have against him is actually how he and Gov. Romney have misused the Declaration of Independence,” she said. “I’m deeply irritated by their notion that the ‘pursuit of happiness’ means money for the richest and that we extricate the capacity of ordinary people to pursue happiness. When they say ‘God and nature give us our rights, not government,’ that is a lovely thing to say as a wealthy white man.”

I am further convinced that liberals are just morons with a degree on the wall. This possibly is the dumbest thing ever said. So, this person’s position is that government owns the people? Is that what he believes? Does he know nothing of history? Do democrat voters really want to return to having kings and tyrants, where the people are slaves of the state? That seems to be this person’s position, and the going opinion of the left’s political class.
For about a decade now (probably post 2000 election when the left went bat s&&t crazy about the narrow Bush win), it has become apparent that the left simply takes whatever our side says, goes to the polar opposite, ridiculing the right’s position no matter the merit. This is what the left’s politics have become. No matter what is said by someone on the right, it must be ridiculed. Our side could say the earth is round, and this idiot on MSNBC would say ‘Once again, the Republican’s have shown the white man’s greed in supporting Christopher Columbus. Columbus had slaves and led to the ravaging of the native americans. He’s white, and the GOP backs his findings.” We are literally fighting against pre-schoolers.

Miss Harris-Perry lives in a country where a number of Black Americans (Oprah Winfrey, Tiger Woods) have managed to accumulate a billion dollars. Hundreds more Black Americans have become superrich with fortunes over 100 million. They would not have done this in a third-world country or any other country in the world.
Also, is Melissa saying/implying she doesn't believe that our rights come from God? Does she believe they only come from government? Don't Marxists and Communists think that way?
Another example of the pervasive influence of the thinking of Derrick Bell racism on the psyche of much of the black intelligentsia of this country. Mostly it is stupidity, but it is dangerous because the communists have used it so well....
