Palin will not speak at Republican convention
WASHINGTON | Sun Aug 12, 2012 7:36pm EDT
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin will not speak at the Republican nominating convention in Tampa later this month, she said in statement on Sunday.
"This year is a good opportunity for other voices to speak at the convention and I'm excited to hear them," Palin, who was Senator John McCain's running mate in the 2008 election, said in a statement on Gretawire, the blog of Fox News's Greta Van Susteren.

Everything I said at the 2008 convention about then-candidate Obama still stands today, and in fact the predictions made about the very unqualified and inexperienced Community Organizers plans to fundamentally transform our country are unfortunately coming true. This year is a good opportunity for other voices to speak at the convention and Im excited to hear them. As Ive repeatedly said, I support Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan in their efforts to replace President Obama at the ballot box, and I intend to focus on grassroots efforts to rally Independents and the GOP base to elect Senate and House members so a wise Congress is ready to work with our new President to get our country back on the right path. This is imperative. As President Clinton said in 2008 while candidate Obama and lapdogs in the media were thrashing his wifes record and reputation, this is
the biggest fairy tale. For the sake of Americas solvency and sovereignty we must close this nonsensical book in November

She won’t speak but McCain will. That’s real forward looking.
Insert eyeroll here.
Classy lady ... too bad they won’t let her speak — afraid she’ll outshine them, probably.
She DID quit. She can get back into the game thru a Cabinet post and/or running in 2014 for the senate seat. Otherwise she’s just an ornament-not serious.
Meanwhile, Governor Palin will support the top of the ticket, but she won't be campaigning for it. Mark my word, she will own the undercard and will be the de facto leader of the party, regardless of what the establishment tries to say.
Nowhere in her statement does Palin say she will not speak.
The headline and the lead are shoddy BS from Reuters hacks.
After one fake story about this already, I’m withholding judgement on this until someone other than “reuters” is claiming it.
Like until 10PM tonight at least.
She is always so gracious and has worked hard as hell to save this nation.
Not serious...but yet massively influencing the primaries all over the country. We need more people who are ‘not serious’, I guess.
Come on Sarah.
It won’t hurt ya to speak at the Rino Rodeo.
Forget Romney.
Lavish praise on Paul Ryan.
Maybe let him know what he is in for...?
Even though, I suspect he already knows.

Do you think Fox News and Greta Van Susteren are issuing fake stories? Palin will be on with Greta tonight.
For a nobody she seems to be getting a lot of Republicans elected to Congress!!!
How about Heading the EPA or Energy Dept.
Big mistake by the party, she is a great motivator.
That's my bet.
I certainly would concur in that, but I don't support Romney, and now I've got some serious questions about Ryan's seriousness.
That is the 10pm story I’m alluding to.
Thanks.
She’s so gracious. But why does McCain get to speak? What does he have to say, who wants to hear him? He needs to go as far away as is possible.
Maybe they saved their more perverted stuff up for this campaign ~ Ryan has young children.
Romney's technique is to take out the opposition before the campaign starts.
