Palin will not speak at Republican convention
WASHINGTON | Sun Aug 12, 2012 7:36pm EDT
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin will not speak at the Republican nominating convention in Tampa later this month, she said in statement on Sunday.
"This year is a good opportunity for other voices to speak at the convention and I'm excited to hear them," Palin, who was Senator John McCain's running mate in the 2008 election, said in a statement on Gretawire, the blog of Fox News's Greta Van Susteren.

That’s what she gets for being a team player.
No good deed goes unpunished...
Where does it say that she either decline to speak or she was told she wasn’t going to speak? Because that’s really what I want to know. I don’t mind that she isn’t speaking but if the RNC diss her after she was being gracious then something is terribly wrong here
I’ll vote for this RINO clown Romney bolstered however little by Ryan who I hope is not just a party hack toadie.
But, God, I’m sick of being played for a sucker by this so-called Republican party.
Most Apt Simile-Of-The-Week Award!!
No kidding...... that HAS to be it.
Then again, a great rousing speech from Sarah would only serve to raise the spirits of disaffected Conservatives, who would reluctantly turn and support Mittens, to their great chagrin in a year when Ryan is silenced and Romney turns out to be as much of a Big-Government Liberal as we believe him to be, and all those who voted for him want to cut off their voting hands.
Maybe she's relieved she doesn't have to shill for a Liberal and sell out her base for a few minutes of podium time.
She'll have quite an audience of her own at her place down the street, I wager.
Newt Gingrich isn’t speaking either, which to me is more offensive, since he did more for the party historically than almost any other Republican and was a big force in attacking Obama on television this year during the primaries, especially over the energy issue. As far as I understand it, Romney’s camp is entirely responsible for deciding who speaks, so the blame lies at their feet. Sadly it makes it feel like for every encouraging move like selecting Paul Ryan, the Romney camp will turn around and discourage us yet again.
She doen't have to speak at the convention.
If she speaks at the same time, I would tune her in. Doesn't matter to me here she speaks from.
Methinks you folks should keep your powder dry and keep your yaps shut. Mitt Romney & Paul Ryan may just spring Ms. Palin on the convention floor at the absolute last minute for maximum exposure and to screw the liberal, Obamabot, left-wing, media dirt bags.
Based on the massive turnout of voters for Romney/Ryan wherever they went Saturday & Sunday and the dismal rally attendance at every Obama campaign stop... I would say Palin, speaking at the last minute, would be a stunning good move, and would bring the convention to a fever pitch!!!
Translation: I'm glad I won't be there. I don't want to be under the same roof as Mittens and his orcs. That could get ugly, and I don't want any of that black blood splashed on me.
They sound like the Bourbons -- "never learned anything, and never forgot anything". Sounds like a good subject for a deepthinking, multivolume psychopathology study.
Here’s what I think the vicious cycle is that the GOP keeps falling into.
Some Republican candidates appear on the scene who explicitly call out how truly devastating and dangerous the policies of the Democrats are for this country. Naturally, they are beloved by the base who are the one group of Americans who has done their homework and understands the destructive nature of the Left.
The Democrats see these politicians as especially threatening because not only do they know what the Democrats are up to but they’re not afraid to speak the truth. Therefore the liberal media unleashes a massive smear campaign against them involving all the Alinsky-ite tactics of ridicule, lies and such and such.
The liberal media’s attacks begin to have the desired effect and drive down their poll numbers. The GOP elites then get scared and seek to marginalize those candidates because they’re afraid they’ll make the whole party unpopular, hurt fundraising, etc.
It happened to Newt Gingrich, Sarah Palin, Allen West and Donald Trump. All of them are now too hot for GOP TV.
What we need is a party that will back up and defend candidates who speak the truth like these ones do. For whatever reason, the GOP doesn’t think it’s in their best interest to truly define the Left for how destructive it really is in the eyes of the American public. But if we don’t succeed at doing that, we’ll continue to lose elections at least half the time. It’s just unbelievably frustrating to see the GOP cave in on our conservative warriors right at the moment when the Leftists are demonstrating that they’re feeling threatened and vulnerable from the force of the attacks.
The GOP establishment is non-ideological -- their goal is to "take their turn". In this sense, they believe their role is to co-exist with Democrats, not to defeat them.
Saves me money. I said I’d donate to National Committee when I saw her speak at National Conference.
Touché!
But my wife has no complaints.
Where the hell did you get that I support gay marraige?
The problem with idiots is they see a screen name and make all sorts of assumptions.
That makes you a problematic moron.
Bingo!

And if you have been following my posts as closely as your claim, you would know that I am from Mass...and that I despise Romney.
But, since in those posts I did not put up pictures of Sarah...you version of Viagra, you probably did not see them. You must find it difficult to type on your keyboard with one hand holding a picture of Sarah and the other in your pajama pants.
The rest of us are out here with the grown ups, trying to figure out how to overthrow this idiot President. Go back to dehydrating your bandanna chips, and leave the real work to us.

Ryan has no influence or control over romney. They both appeared on abc news this morning... Ryan remained mute... mitt insisted that it would be HIS ECONOMIC PLAN that they would run on and “NOT RYAN’S” plan. He meant it too.
