It still doesn’t make me like Romney. But I might vote for Ryan.

It’s not America vs the Marxists. Romney vs Obama. It’s America vs Romney vs Obama. It’s not even a matter of “purity” either, since Romney is so pitch black even when it comes to basic moral principles like honesty and loyalty that we cannot even call him kin to our movement. The “purity” argument would really only apply if it was Marco Rubio, an amnesty pimp, or maybe Chris Christie vs Obama. Only then it would make sense. In the meantime, it’s two progressives fighting a battle that we are only pawns in.

He is correct. The alternative to Romney/Ryan is Obama/Biden. It is that simple. No calculus or quantum physics required.

There is an alternative to Mitt Romney, if you are looking for one. Who is it? It is Barack Obama. No, that is not a joke.

Some simple truths are just too hard for some to swallow.

THE ONLY POSSIBLE NOT-ROMNEY CHOICE:

By a factor too great to calculate, I fear a lame duck Obama much more than a first term Romney. And as long as there isn’t a viable 3rd party candidate, I’ll vote where it counts. I’m not a big fan of symbolic jesters.

Thank you for the post. You are 100% right on this. I am not a Romney fan myself, but I like Paul Ryan. His 92% conservative voting record speaks for itself. I would vote for anyone over Obama to save our country, but Romney’s choice of Ryan as his VP running mate sealed the deal and made it a whole lot easier to support Romney’s campaign. I contributed to his campaign for the first time yesterday.

I’ve got a friend who is just adamanent about voting for Gary Johnson. Most of these people view the country as already gone and fail to see how much worse it will get in a King Obama 2nd term.

I had a conversation with my parents yesterday regarding the Ryan pick for which we are pleased. We talked about the conservative misgivings about Romney. ( My parents are solidly ABO)

I too am voting ABO but not just against 0bama and Biden but to rid our government of Holder, Sebelius, Jarret, Plouffe and all the other jackals, hyenas, vermin and scum that inhabit the 0bama White House.

Yeah, Romney is a capital R Rino that has held positions I would never vote for him but between him and the parasites and bacteria that make up the current administration I’m holding the opinion that Romney will not infest his administration with the lice and cockroaches we currently have and I believe Ryan’s pick is a clear signal backing my belief.

Yes. If Romney is like Obama, he’s less of an Obama. Punishing all Americans with four more years of traitor Obama if Republicans do not pick a conservative candidate is too drastic a revenge or punishment. Thus it makes sense to vote for R+R in November. Also, Ryan is more conservative than Romney so that’s one more reason to vote for R+R.

You are absolutely right.
We have no choice. It’s Romney/Ryan or Omuslim completes the distruction of America.
It’s as simple as that.

I've been a reluctant supporter (of sorts) of Romney because of the glaring reality you stated; it's Romney or Obama - and all that a second Obama term threatens. I wasn't happy about such a narrow choice but, unlike the FReepers who view Romney as ideologically identical to Obama, a comparison I find to be tinfoil hat material, I figured that Romney, the business tycoon, would help the economy, if nothing else. Well that and the fact that he doesn't despise his country - because it is his country.

With conservative congressman Paul Ryan being chosen by Romney as his VP, I was able to feel a lot better about the GOP presidential candidate and decided that I wouldn't need 3 clothespins on my nose when I walked into the voting booth on November 6th. As you stated, there is no 'perfect' political candidate. Never has, never will be.

Those who delight in trashing Romney on a conservative website can do that until the cows come home and vote as they please, of course, but I'm voting Republican on November 6th and I'm relieved to see that some longtime FReepers I respect are coming to the same conclusion.

I expect a Romney-Ryan blowout on election day and now I feel more confident that ever about the election.

I voted for Palin/McCain in 2008. Now it’s Ryan/Romney in 2012.

Right on right on right on. We will not survive another 4 years of Barack Obama. The anti Romney whiners need to get a grip.. and sooner rather than later.

Well said.

Many here on the right do not understand the concept of incrementalism.

The left lives by it. We did not come to the socialist marxist obama thug all of a sudden. Never would have happened if they would not have had Clinton and Carter types to lean a little more to the left with each new administration and congress.

I can be happy and patient that through R&R and hard work pushing strong conservative local candidates we can get our country turning right again, even if I've radius of the curve is not as sharp as we would all like.

Patience.

Baby steps.
