I didn’t know there was any chance Hannemann could lose, I didn’t bother to look up this chick. Finally a Leninist broad that’s easy on the eyes. Shocking!!!!! Our nomination went to some d-bag who thinks “smoker’s rights” is the most important issue facing Hawaii and the nation. That’s all that’s on his website. He joins that gay megarino in MA Tisei as GOP House candidates I feel no need to endorse.

As for the Senate. Well I was thinking if Case won, Asians would be more likely to vote Lingle. But isn’t Case more popular with indies? It was a while ago and maybe Case himself put it out there but there was a poll that showed him with a larger lead over Lingle.

The very interesting HI-02 Dem primary pitted the Samoan, 6’7” (IIRC) former Harvard basketball star, pro-life, Mormon mayor of Honolulu, Mufi Hannemann, versus the young, very attractive daughter of a Republican state senator (who recently switched to the Democrats because Republicans were down to less than 10% in the body) and who herself was an Iraq War veteran and the youngest legislator in U.S. history, Tulsi Gabbard. I have to assume that, being her father’s daughter, Gabbard will vote less liberal than any of the Communists who have represented HI-02 through the years, but I would have preferred Hannemann, who (i) is pro-life, (ii) is relatively old, and thus less likely to use that seat as a springboard to the U.S. Senate, and (iii) controversial enough among Democrats so as to have given Republicans a chance at an upset victory in 2014 (if a legitimate candidate ran instead of the third-tier guys running this year).

As for the Senate race, I agree that I’d rather have Lingle face Hirono, since Lingle has beat her once before and since Lingle should be able to get votes from the moderates and goo-goos (if you aren’t familiar with the term, look it up before assuming that it’s racial in origin) who support Case. Besides, as DJ pointed out, Hirono is too old to become a 6-term senator if the Hawaiian Democrat tradition, while Case is far younger, so she’d be preferable if Lingle can’t beat her.
