He has sort of been floundering around. But, some of the recent attack ads have hit close, so he seems to be upping the ante there.

Also, his daddy ran and didn't make it. I don't think he wants to just be another also ran and lost. So, I do hope we see more vigor and sting during/after the convention.

America needs a Champion of Freedom in order to prevail, and she may now have exactly that.
