WASHINGTON (AP) President Barack Obama is launching a new ad that questions whether rival Mitt Romney paid any income taxes in the past.
The ad shows footage from a Romney interview with ABC News in which the Republican presidential candidate was asked if he had ever paid a lower tax rate than 13.9 percent. The narrator asks, Did Romney pay 10 percent in taxes? Five percent? Zero?
The ad is slated to air in Virginia, North Carolina, Florida and Ohio during the coming week, the same states where Romney is taking a bus tour beginning Saturday.
Obama allies like Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid have questioned whether Romney paid taxes in the past decade.

Did Barack Obama Underreport His Income to IRS?
If Romney doesn't want to release his taxes (and I don't think he should - at least not without getting a quid pro quo like, "I'll release more tax records if Obama will release his college transcripts."), he should run a graph showing how much he paid in taxes each year, how much he gave to charity, and what the combination of charitable giving plus taxes represented as a percent of his total income. He can also note that he's release the same tax information as McCain, Kerry, etc. I think he can also call for congress to pass legislation requiring all congress critters to release their tax records every year they hold public office. I'd really like to know how someone can go to Washington broke as a Congressman and every as a multi-multi-millionaire a few years later.
Barack Obama understands that the 50%+1 he needs to get elected ARE STOOPID, and will believe whatever they see on The Magic Sqauwking Box in the living room.
This is the same guy that won Indiana in 2008 by telling these same sheep that McCain intended to tax their healthcare insurance. And people bought it.
Romney keeps taking “the high road”. Why, probably because although he has more than ample funds to blast this political thug off the planet, he wants the super pacs to do his dirty work. Flash news for Romney, most of the super pacs are conservative and you do not fire up the base, rather, you spend you time acting like a “moderate”. Time to step up Romney or you will go down just as sure as McLame did, for the same reasons. One more word for you, don’t expect your VP to be as effective as was Palen for McLame. In fact, from most of the names I have heard, they are just more of you in technicolor.
I don’t think that’s true.
Romney is currently being hamstrung by LAWS (you remember those thingys we had before Obama took over, doncha?) that say Romney can’t use Gen Election funds until AFTER he is actually the nominee.
Obama is under no such restriction, as Campaign Finance laws simply do not apply to the queer media messiah.
Don’t believe me? Just ask ANYONE at CBS/ABC/CNN/NBC/Pacifica/MSNBC/NPR/WashPost/NYTimes about this!!
And how many in this bastards administration have failed to pay their taxes?
It is high time the Romney camp starts to get nasty.
Where the eff is that C-Pac that managed to destroy Gingrich?
FUBO!!! Last year you made about $800,000 and paid an effective tax rate of only 20%! At $800,000 per year your effective tax rate should have been close to 35%! You paid 15% less in taxes you cheating asshat!
A state bounty ought to be awarded to business owners who take care of these situations without having the state spend piles of taxpayer money on a trial for these criminals.
OK....we know Democrats want to see Romney’s tax returns. What else do Democrats have on Romney? Nothing, absolutely nothing. They are running a one subject campaign.
save your money ZERO.
How MUCH he paid doesn't make him a tax cheat. His accountants filed them and they were legal. If they were not legal, surely Obama's IRS would have had him audited.

A whole lot of taxes due from federal employees right here.
Yep, great plan again. Obie.
Follow the ad you have been running in Ohio complaining that Romney earned $20M and paid 14% taxes, with one that claims Romney didn’t pay any taxes for the last 10 years.
Heck of a plan!
What will you lie about next week? So far we have ‘didn’t pay enough taxes’, ‘didn’t pay ANY taxes’, so the next one should be ‘Overpaid all his taxes’?????
I think that weed you smoked is finally getting to you.
