Authorities say one man is dead and two others hospitalized after they crashed a van into a North Augusta gun store to steal weapons and were shot by the owner, who lived behind the business.

This incident can’t be ranked higher than #2 on the dumb crook list. I recall several years ago some jerk tried to rob a gun store clerk with a knife during business hours. Not only did the clerk shoot him but many of the customers did as well.
