Fox News poll: Obama's lead grows as Romney's support slips
FOX News ^ | August 9, 2012 | By Dana Blanton

Mitt Romney has had a tough couple of weeks on the campaign trail -- and it shows in the latest Fox News poll. After a barrage of campaign ads, negative news coverage of his overseas trip and ongoing talk about his tax returns, Romney’s favorable rating and standing in the trial ballot have declined. As a result, President Obama has opened his biggest lead since Romney became the presumptive Republican nominee.

The president would take 49 percent of the vote compared to Romney's 40 percent in a head-to-head matchup if the election were held today, the poll found. Last month, Obama had a four percentage-point edge of 45 percent to 41 percent. This marks the second time this year the president has had a lead outside the poll’s margin of sampling error.

Obama’s advantage comes largely from increased support among independents, who now pick him over Romney by 11 percentage points. Some 30 percent of independents are undecided. Last month, Obama had a four-point edge among independents, while Romney had the advantage from April through early June.

There was also an uptick in support for Obama among women, blacks and Democrats.

All I can say is who responds to these poll’s? I’ve yet to be called and I don’t know anybody who has, guess we’re to busy working but we will vote.

My daughter, who sang at an FR rally, just informed me that she is voting for Obama because Romney is a right wing extremist who condemned gay marriage.

I raised an idiot.

It'll take a lot of Socratic dialogue to overcome that level of programming - but it can be done. If you can resist the impulse to strangle her first, of course.

I’m not really paying much attention anymore.

Two liberals running for the white house so I’m more interested in the house and senate race.

Why, because Obama has consistently been up in garbage polls that say states like AZ, NC, SC,and IN are swing states?

Obama’s spent tons of money for months, and has gotten marginal results so far.

Sure, Romney hasn’t been on the attack constantly, and I find that concerning, but he also doesn’t have the help of foreign national bundlers like Obama did in 2008.

If Romney still is on the defensive and letting Obama wail on him after summer ends, then I’ll be really concerned.

The GOP nominated Mitt Happens despite everything we did to stop it.

What did we do to stop it? All I remember about the primaries was that there were too many candidates and not enough people wanted to support the same one. Then there was the darned Ron Paul factor. The candidate I voted for didn't have a chance by the time of my state's primaries but I voted for him anyway.

Why doesn’t Romney start talking about what he will do and stop talking about Obama and what a shlock he is.
Or
Why doesn’t he treat Obama like he treats conservatives.....with bats and blades.
Has the man lost his testosterone?

Few things that are for certain, Diogenesis. The GOP is not wise, it is not strategically intelligent, it does not represent conservatives, it is content to feed off of crumbs from the democrat table, and I have no respect for them whatsoever.

That being said, I’ve no other choice but to vote for Romney, who is a sissy, but after the Nov 6 election, I am done with the GOP forever.

All of these + (fill-in the number) polls that over-sample rats are trustworthy? In the words of Butthead:

Hey, Beavis, what the hell is this crap?

BINGO! We split our vote amongst different folks. Together Mitt would not be here today.

A Friend of a Friend was talking to his Daughter who was away at College back in 2008. The Daughter told her Father that she was excited about Voting for Obama.

The Father, a fine Southern Gentleman, told her to drive home the next weekend because they needed to talk.

When the Daughter got home, the Father sat her down and informed her that if he found out that she supported and Voted for Obama he would (a) stop paying for her Education, (b) Stop paying for her room and board, (3) Take away the Car he gave her and (d) she would be on her own from then on.

The Daughter cried to Mommy, but Mommy knew backing up the ignorant Obama loving Daughter against the Husband would not end well, since the Wife was and is a fine Southern Lady who knew the lay of the land.

Last I heard, the Daughter got over her Obama infatuation before driving back to School. She learned the lay of the land from her Father as well.

Romney is, head and shoulders, a better person and a better citizen than Obama.

I get conservatives not liking Romney, but being excited about Obama being re-elected and Romney losing is idiotic. Again, Are you American’s first or not, if you are than how can you sit and hope Romney loses and Obama wins? so you can prance around and say I told you so?!?!

As your lives go to hell for four years of Obama , don’t whine live with it!

No, because even his own supporters (minus the Romneybot apologists in political forums who are desperate to prove that choosing a RINO was a much better move than choosing a Conservative) think he's not taking off the gloves and fighting like a man.
