Yes.

It was not unknown then for a women who inconveniently turned up pregnant to have an abortion forced on her. A female at that time could also be forcibly sterilized by hysterectomy (A treatment for "hysteria") without her consent.

Part of the suffragette movement's goals was for a woman to be able to legally say no to such horrors.
