Italian daily newspaper Il Giornale chose a deeply provocative headline for Friday's front page: 'Quarto Reich'Fourth Reich, to comment on Germany's refusal to give the European Central Bank more leeway.
Il Giornale is a right-wing newspaper owned by Silvio Berlusconi's brother Paolo. "Since yesterday, Italy is no longer in Europe; it is in the Fourth Reich," writes the newspaper's editor-in-chief, Alessandro Sallusti, who writes that Germany has won, but Italy, Europe and the euro have lost after European Central Bank chief Mario Draghi.

He who pays the piper calls the tune.
You just can’t keep the Germans down.
Right, because Germany is invading her neighbors, exterminating Jews, and waging war for global domination once again. fourth reich. what a bunch of BS.
The best of Silvio Berlusconi
(warning he can be crude)
I’d even vote for him over what we have in the WH today
Just about every post third reich government has been called the fourth reich. Just a talking point.
I can’t believe just how wussified the Germans are.
They are insulted by all sides because they loan money to these governments that ran their countries into the ground and couldn’t pay their bills.
The fact is that EU needs Germany more than Germany needs the EU and it could leave, restore its own sovereignty and survive while the countries around it wouldn’t survive 5 minutes without getting bailed out.
What are they going to do?
Sell their souls to China for to bail out their grotesque welfare states?
This Berlusconi clown owes Western Kentucky University billions when he ripped off WKU’s Big Red and created his own mascot that looks the same and incorporated the image into Italian children’s programming.
I fear not the so called “Forth Reich” The present German unified Nation. I fear the coming Fifth Reich—what will replace it in the future. This government will not be so wimpish and hearken back to Germany’s glorious past.
So not giving someone a bunch of free money they’re demanding is the same as suppressing or even subjugating them? That’s OWS logic.
Is that the mascot that Berlusconi said is different because the Italian one has a moustache and wears clothing?
“Is that the mascot that Berlusconi said is different because the Italian one has a moustache and wears clothing?”
The one where he publicly admitted he got the idea from a college basketball team in Kentucky.
There was this puppet called Big Red who was the mascot of an American basketball team. The team is Western Kentucky University, Ricci is quoted as saying. Ive wrested him from a life of hardships and humiliations. He was a clown in Kentucky; hes the biggest TV star here, in Italy
Big Red became Gabibbo.

So...because you couldn't stop spending, it's the German's fault. Yeah, that's the ticket!
Germany has all of its own sovereignty. It’s the only country in the EU that does. What I don’t get is how people seem to think of Germany as being anything like the USA. They and the other EU elites that do everything they tell them created this fiscal crisis; they’ve got a “solution” up their sleeve. (Come on; the Bundestag is reviewing the budgets of countries that are supposedly themselves “sovereign”if the USA were in their position, do you expect Congress to review other countries’ budgets?)
Ah, poor little EuroWhiners....apparently, the alleged “Fourth Reich” won’t continue to bailout their failure to reign in their budgets. I suppose Margret Thatcher was part of the Fourth Reich when she asserted: “The trouble with Socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money”? /s =.=
You have to pay more attention to what’s going on there. The price being asked for is total centralization of all governmental functions, reducing national parliaments to mere speaking galleries. Is imperial conquest by imposition of socialism justifiable?
What free money? The EU and IMF have given out loans, not grants.
Germany can’t stop spending either. What makes them different?
People do need to read the treaties that define the European Union.
Examples?
And that justifies imperialism?
