Obama's College Classmate: The Obama Scandal is at Columbia

Why are the college records, of a 51-year-old President of the United States, so important to keep secret? I think I know the answer.

If anyone should have questions about Obama’s record at Columbia University, it’s me. We both graduated (according to Obama) Columbia University, Class of ’83. We were both (according to Obama) Pre-Law and Political Science majors. And I thought I knew most everyone at Columbia. I certainly thought I’d heard of all of my fellow Political Science majors. But not Obama (or as he was known then- Barry Soetoro). I never met him. Never saw him. Never even heard of him. And none of the classmates that I knew at Columbia has ever met him, saw him, or heard of him.

But don’t take my word for it. The Wall Street Journal reported in 2008 that Fox News randomly called 400 of our Columbia classmates and never found one who had ever met Obama.

As anyone who has ever gone to this kind of school knows, classes are small, sports are big, fraternities are often central, and every student has at least one faculty advisor.

Where is his college yearbook? Should be in the Library or fir sale on eBay.

Yes! Thanks for making that clear. Columbia College back in the early 80’s had less than 5,000 students, and a 6:1 student faculty ratio.

This narrative makes no sense. Uncle Sam allows for its citizens to have multiple nationalities.

The issuance of a Certificate of Loss of Nationality by the U.S. Secretary of State is discretionary. The Secretary of State doesn't need a request or permission from the expatriate. Renunciation of citizenship is implied when an expatriate nationalizes in a foreign country. Obama's mother didn't renounce his citizenship. She followed instructions on her passport renewal form and declared under penalty of perjury a family on her previous passport has naturalized in foreign state.

Since Obama was a minor at the time his Certificate of Loss of Nationality was issued, he would have been given the opportunity to reclaim his U.S. Citizenship at any time up until 6 months after his 18th birthday.

It is incorrect to assume a uniform application of policy for a discretionary act. The U.S. Secretary of State will do what is in the best interest of the U.S. at the time. Not all minors with dual nationalities will be issued a Certificate of Loss of Nationality, but some will be. Of those who are issued a Certificate of Loss of Nationality, they have until 6 months after the 18th birthday to reclaim their U.S. Citizenship. Otherwise, they will have to move back to the U.S. as a Permanent Resident Alien and naturalize to obtain U.S. Citizenship.

Wrong. The Archivist of NARA reviews and approves all requests for disclosure. The Attorney General gets involved only when a POTUS (sitting or former) invokes privilege.

Bush as Governor of Texas, or Barack Obama as U.S. Senator from Illinois.

He's not a king. He can't order the states or universities to release anything. He can request it through proper channels and it will get done according to appropriate procedure.

How many more years will we have to read the erroneous info that BHO, Jr. was "Editor" of the Harvard Law Review? Then and now, it would be extremely foolish for anyone to let this boob "edit" anything.

Why aren';t we discussing a very simple, easily demonstrable fact from the present era, rather than straightening out issues that any intelligent FReeper knew about in 2007-8? I refer to the simple story that what Obama got from Hawaii is not what was posted for him on the WH Website. IOW, the Resident is a forger.

Furthermore, even rock solid evidence, like that, developed in AZ by Sheriff Joe is meaningless unless there is a place to take it, or if someone who has the authority to act upon it, does so. An even more unlikely scenario would be for a candidate for public office to mention any of this.

Are they referring to Columbia College which is the very small four year liberal arts college of Columbia University, or the Columbia U. School of General Studies which is enormous, open to almost everyone with a HS diploma?

This precisely the sort of confusion the posted article is intended to sow. General Studies? You paid your money and you were in. I know this because ....gasp .... I took courses there myself! You want a Columbia COLLEGE degree? Ask the office what courses you need to take. They tell you what courses they will accept from your previous schools, if any ... and nowadays, what "life experience"... and many thousands upon thousands of student loans later, you have your degree. I just used the School of General Studies to fill in a few blanks for my degree from another institution.

General Studies Students pal around with the swank ivy leaguers from the actual college, go out for crew, baseball, football? ... NOT! (Although I hoisted many a stein with them.)

It is also important to keep in perspective how short Obama's stay at Columbia actually was. For about half the time there he was on the road to Pakistan, (or wherever) which leads me to believe he got degree credit for some sort of "project," or "life experience," while away.

Yes, his year (s) at Columbia are certainly mysterious. Not to mention mysteriously tantalizing hints of his association with the Weatherman Underground, The Black Panthers, and God knows what else.

We're not discussing it because The Mouthpiece Media deflects attention to other issues like accusations about unpaid taxes. For the most part, the masses just keep doing the wave all around the stadium, over and over, even after the play on the field is complete. Occasionally they may catch a snippet of Donald Trump talking about the forgery but that only confuses them because he himself is a questionable "reality show" figure.

Obama's records are sealed by vital records' privacy laws in Hawaii; by university policies at Harvard, Columbia, and Occidental; and federal law at executive agencies such as the SSA, Selective Service, and State Department.

Barack Obama’s first Executive Order, 13489, was regarding the release of Presidential Records from the National Archives with respect to records maintained under the Presidential Records Act of 1978. The National Archivist at NARA does not maintain or administer any state's vital records, university transcripts, or federal agency records such as passports, selective service, or social security. Obama’s EO 13489 revoked Bush’s EO 13233 on Presidential Records under the PRA of 1978, which revoked Reagan’s EO 12667 on Presidential Records under the PRA or 1978.

I believe Columbia College is the undergraduate college within Columbia University. Same campus, 116th St.

Much like Radcliffe is a college within Harvard University.

I am not sure that it is at all clear. I know that I looked it up when it was posted on the Obama file and that there was a separate Columbia College. Now, it looks as though the whole undergraduate program is referred to as Columbia College. It also appears that the education college was called Columbia College.

Anyway, it appears that there has been a change since Obama attended and a further change since he was elected.

I still believe that Obama most likely did some kind of alternative program, where he got credit for training in Pakistan. We know from his passport that he travelled to Pakistan during the period that he was supposed to be at Columbia, but we don’t know when he returned.

It his me last week that this entire BC issue...although very real...was keeping us from vetting the Other side of the family.
