New Voter ID Laws Could Trip Up Obama

As many as 5 million voters, most of them potential Democrats, might find themselves barred from voting in November because of new ID laws in some states.

Presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney holds a narrow edge in the popular polls but needs to win at least four critical “swing states” in order to gain the need majority of electoral college votes, which are allocated to each state based on population and on a “winner take all” basis.

The new ID laws, mostly in states with GOP legislatures, will affect young voters, most of whom are Democrats. They include the key states of Virginia as well as others, the London-based Financial Times reported.

A case in point is Pennsylvania, which is considered “safe” for Obama and which he won by 600,000 votes in 2008. State officials report that more than 750,000 registered voters – representing more than 9 percent of the total voters – do not have required forms for identification, such as a driving license.

I think the real issue concerns how many people that vote don't look anything like their photo ID's ... as clearly demonstrated in the above photo of a Democrat voter registration drive.

very strange, I saw almost the exact same article from The Financial Times over the weekend. Neither of these stories attributed the other one.

The FT story read like a DNC commercial, this one is the same just shorter.

In case anyone is concerned, the same “there is no fraud” lines are quoted, the terrible RINO in Congress are not stopping the evil radical Right from suppressing the vote, and the same 90 y.o. widow who first voted for FDR when she was 16, is quoted again.

Very strange that the foreign press chooses to reprint our failed commercial as legitimate news.

If I open a checking account I produced a picture ID
If I cash a check I produced a picture ID.
If I go to the White House as a tourist, picture ID required.

Get on an Airplane, go inside many government buildings, get stopped by a policeman, cash a social security check, etc etc etc.

Even the illegals have photo ID but the problem is they are fake photo IDs. My state (Texas) will provide you free of charge a photo ID if you come into the Dept. of Motor Vehicle and prove your citizenship.

The push against voter photo ID is very simply a democrat policy to make voter fraud easy.

Do you realize what they’re saying in this article? It’s not “You’re disenfranchising voters!” It’s, “You’re not letting us get away with voting fraud!”

They’re actually complaining that people have to provide ID to vote.

Was a Prosecutor for 25 years in Northern Virginia and you’d probably be stunned how many people don’t have ID. I was surprised at the number of elderly that didn’t.

But this law like all of the other state anti Democrat voter fraud laws provides for free photo IDs from the state. So what is you point?

How do you register to vote, without an id?

Remember, all ID states have a “provisional ballot” contingency. The vote is cast and segregated pending research of eligibility.

From the time this has become an issue, these people (both the activists AND the allegedly-affected "voters") have had years to work on getting the proper voter ID for those that require it.

At the beginning of this year, you could say they had almost a year to get the ID.

Even now, they have 3 months left.

What's so frickin hard?! Instead of crying about disenfranchisement, just do the legwork to get what's needed.

Obviously they don't care they are being fed of line of nonsense - even a utility bill is good enough in Virginia. To satisfy the whining democrats and their brain dead supporters all registered voter will be mailed a new voter registration card prior to election day. Of course the dems and their brain dead supporters then proceeded to whine about that being a waste of money.

The registration card is all that is needed, so any claims about this aecting anyone is just typical dem BS.
