I can’t believe it...through an incredibly complex set of things that had to go JUST RIGHT, that we could not have direct control over, we’ve landed a freakin’ CAR on the planet Mars! Not only that...it’s a car with a brain and loaded for bear with scientific instruments! And we dropped it to the surface on CABLES, from a hovering platform powered by ROCKETS!

As great as an achievement as this was (and I actually worked on a small part of the cruise stage - I work for a contractor), there is a down side.
